"The Four Horsemen" by Aphrodite's Child ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzVD35lWdE4 And don't forget outros, too. Melanie's "Brand New Key" was always fun to hear on the way out of the venue. And "Rocky Racoon" is another outro I recall.

Glad you enjoyed the show, and got up close too. http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/42960-wilco-21010-seattle-wa/ This is a link to another thread for the same show: People seem to be posting in that thread, and I see you copied your own message over there too, so I'll close this one to keep the comments in one spot.

Jay, hang in there. This has to be tough not only for you, but for all your family and friends. Vibes to all.

Looks like I'll be Chicago-bound 2 weekends in a row then - 1 for Robyn Hitchcock solo, then 1 for JT solo! Nice! Thanks for the head's up, Susan! Post-show birthday party!
-
Awwwwww! Such lovely pix of happy people! Congrats to you both! And Spawn, too! It's surprising how many love matches have "spawned" from VC!
-
Hey Robert! Hope you had a terrific day! Hope you're making it down to the Paramount to see Wilco & Califone next week!
-
Have a fun day, Mike!
-
Happy Birthday Christine! I do hope you're up to some birthday shenanigans tonight!

Oh good grief. Someone tell me what good will come of this? Oh ... pasted here for your reading pleasure:

Ah man, glad to hear an update from you, Greg. I'm also glad to read you are still planning on the spring Wilco shows in your region (especially Durham! ) Take care of yourself and follow your doctor's orders (as best you can)! PS - Did you get to see any shows while you were in Athens before your heart attack? If not, this will definitely go down as the worst road trip ever!
-
Do they bite swimmers? PS - I cannot stop reading this headline as "The Asian Crap Problem"

{{{ greg }}} get well sooooon!

Yeah, I know him. I was just at his house for a David Bazan living room show last month. Drew takes great shots, but catching a good shot of Jay Reatard's face under all that hair was a tall order. One Lucky Guitar's Matt Kelley did this poster: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3201/2880823589_d890f999e8_b.jpg

I actually got to see him in a hole-in-the-wall place here in Fort Wayne. We were so proud to get somebody this big at our little local punk bar - the Brass Rail. I wasn't really into his music, but I wanted to see his show. It was too loud up close, so I sat at the bar and put my earplugs in and THEN I could hear the underlying great pop songs he created. I'm just not into punk. He played fast and frenetic and rocked the room, then suddenly left the stage. Whooosh! Kinda like his life. Damn. RIP Jay.

When I was young, every time the plane would land, the passengers would applause for the pilot! Good landing!!!
-
Yes we have talked about this before here at VC (merged!) but it's always nice to get a reminder to check it out again and see what's new. Thanks for the nudge!
-
You have to laugh at the listing for row "O" - 2 seats available for $1308 PER SEAT!!!
-
can't wait for this too. Long time coming! A 3-song EP available on iTunes Jan 12th!

I can't wait to hear this new album. Plus gotta catch one of these shows! article here: http://hangout.altsounds.com/news/113856-miles-kurosky-ex-beulah-announces-tour-first-solo-album.html and from his myspace Jan 6 2010:

Oh, I understood your post quite well. Your "bigger problem" is the audience at a show that hasn't even happened yet. My "bigger problem" is I don't even have a ticket to get in the door. I happen to perceive my problem to be bigger than yours and I was just poking fun at you. Lighten up! Enjoy the show. I hope you are surrounded by people enjoying the show exactly to your wishes. And I really mean that, too.

Yeah, man! Who wants to be in a crowd of people and listen to live music? Ew!

Good ideas Kristofor - I went ahead and edited the thread title ... and I changed it to "have I been duped" because a whole lot of VC'ers are buying tix right now and every time I read that, I got skeered! Not that my memory is much good these days, but I could SWEAR at one point in the distant past, I had a ticket which had the wrong wilcoworld URL on it. But I'm not up for rummaging through my thoroughly disorganized souvenir ticket box. Not yet anyway!
