Just a note in case everyone hadn't seen. She's on Leno tomorrow night (Tuesday). I get the distinct feeling she'll play "1234," but I'm praying for "I Feel It All." It's been lodged in my brain since I first heard it last week and just might be my favorite tune of '07. Well, after "Impossible Germany."

Right on. I'm roughly 60 miles from both cities (southern IN) so I'm definitely hitting both shows. Good times ahead.

Album for album, they're scaring me. Just so damn good. The only other bands whose albums I enjoy this much start to finish are Wilco followed distantly by the Decemberists. My Last.fm also seems to hint at the fact that I'm enamored with them considering I didn't "discover" them until August last year...

Overproduced or not, "Real Love" is probably my favorite Beatles tune...one of my favorites ever. Just something about the chord progression and John's vocal melodies. Perfect.

I never really noticed that. Maybe because I'm completely enamored with this song. It recently tossed Jesus, Etc. off the top of my "favorite song ever" list.

I was down there last weekend and, if Calvin Borel races Street Sense this weekend the way he ran the horses I saw him run last weekend...look out. He is one amazing jockey. I put down an Across The Board bet on a horse with 20-1 pre-race odds just because Borel was riding. The horse went to post at 9-1 and won...

It took me a minute, but...UHF, right? Great flippin' movie. "Badgers?!? We don't need no stinking badgers!!" My favorite quotes from my favorite movie: "This is not Nam; this is bowling: there are rules." "Eight year olds, Dude." It's a tie.

I was at Summerfest. It was my introduction to Andrew. I was with some friends and, while I found his style and talent interesting, we got kind of annoyed by the whistling after awhile. I am SO glad I gave Andrew's "Mysterious Production" a chance. Just a near-perfect album as is the new one. I was in Newport on 4/14 to see him and, despite the fact that I was as close to sleep as I've ever been before the show even started, it was excellent and I can't wait to see him again.

Am I the only one who finds very little changed in the current setlists? I'm looking forward to the Cincy & Indy shows, but man, no changes. Did you at least love the show Campaigner?

MBD was awesome. However, I don't think I had the same perspective on this show as you did. Maybe it was the 800 miles I'd already driven in the days prior to the show and the thought of another 450 back home... I live in southern Indiana, saw the Decemberists in Louisville on Friday, Andrew Bird in Newport on Saturday, and then drove up to the Chicago area on Sunday night, met up with some friends, and eventually ended up in Milwaukee for Monday night's show. Funk seemed out of it/tired/unsure/etc. We were standing right against the stage in front of him and he was just not all there.

Only band in that entire list I'd want to see.

Better voice than most. Lyrically better than most. More musically talented than most. I'd love to say I'm over-hyping him, but you can't over-hype the truth. That's not to say every song is pure gold, but seriously, why enter this topic if only to be a troll? I think Mr. Walker is extremely difficult to listen to, hence the reason you won't see me posting in a topic regarding his stuff.

Heard none of the above last night in Louisville. I'm hoping for all of those on Monday in Milwaukee myself. And now, after only a few hours of sleep, I drag myself back to work...

My dad's been raving to me about him a lot lately (we share a ton of common music interests including Wilco so we always have something to talk about). I haven't listened yet, but I'm thinking I will have to sooner or later.

I've got nothing else to say on this. That smiley says it all. This just ruined my day quite early on.

This album still ain't grabbing me, but I'm still seeing him Saturday.

Man I'm 60 miles from Cincy and 70 from Indy. Back-to-back dates. I was pleading for this. Now if they'd just add Louisville (which I'm only 65 miles from), I'd be happier than a pig in shit.

Their songwriting hasn't changed much but the characters just aren't there. There's no "Red Dragon Tattoo," "Joe Rey" or "Bright Future In Sales" here. Nothing that makes me chuckle at the absurdity of the character in the song. I too thought that, while nauseatingly polished production-wise, "Someone To Love" was a good start to the album. But it's a really quick drop off. The problem I have with "Someone To Love" is the arrangement for the song is nearly identical to that of "Mexican Wine," the opener from their last proper album.

This album is awful: their worst lyrically and most unimaginative musically. Absolutely terrible. I liked that mostly bad collection of B-sides better.
