  1. I agree with totally disagreeing. Maybe they had an off night -- they are entitled after being on the road for so long -- but when I saw them in NYC they were having a ball and sounded great. But, I guess you can't make everybody happy.
  2. I would sell my Grandma to be able to go back in time and see this one. Peter Buck and JT blasting away on Country Feedback, be still my heart.
  3. Like ..oh wait, this is not Facebook. I still like .
  4. Don't forget my favorite sorta REM and Wilco collaboration -- The Minus Five's Down with Wilco. (The Minus Five being every member of REM not named "Michael"). As well as one of the most magical, soul-inspiring songs every written: Lyrical Stance. According to the linear notes, Scott, Peter and Jeff all played lead guitar on the song that gives us the line,"I've got something in my pants, and it's a lyrical stance. " Brings a tear to the eye.
  5. I think they will get a nomination.. sort of the Grammys saying "Hey look, we are cool. We nominated Wilco." Don't know if they will win.
  6. A friend asked for some sample songs, I gave her a whole list -- covering the sweet (Jesus Etc.), the rocking (Outtasite), the lovely acoustic (Either Way), the guitar extraordinaire (Art of Almost), and my favorites (I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, Hummingbird, Born Alone). And she loved the, She's in. So,...now I wanna know where I register to get my toaster oven.?
  7. I was standing on my brother's deck, and there was a street fair going on about 2 blocks away, and it was playing War on War.

    Capitol City

I like it. Fun to sing along with. Two thumbs up. :thumbup And I like Standing O and Red Lung Rising. And What Light and Glad It's Over.
  9. Isn't there a Tool one? I should get that for my brother, he and the missus just had twins
  10. When I say this people usually look at me like I said that I like punching puppies, but I don't care. Sky Blue Sky is my favorite. It's all about how it makes you feel, and this one makes me feel happy and comforted.
  11. Rarely....I've tried a few times but just can't get through it. It usually happens when I'm at work or doing something other than listening. After getting my first migraine a few years ago, I totally get that it is what one of those brain crushers sounds like. It does have one of my favorite lines..."The night is dissolving in a cup God lifts to toast the lightening." And maybe that's why I don't listen-- none of Jeff's great words.
  12. I do love my JT, but I prefer that he keeps the little "tweedy" to himself. The idea of it just disturbs the heck outta me. And I'm surprised that Jeff would even make their "to do" list. I figured they would focus on fellas whose reputations are a bit more scandalous. Who's "mini mes" have seen more action -- and variety -- than Jeff. He's pretty well known for being happily married. But I bet he was flattered.
  13. Last year I was in Hawaii for work and then stayed a few days in a woman's home, who rents it out to vacationers. And -- after 4 days with her I say say that all people in Hawaii talk like the DJ. He sounds high, but just relaxed. It's Hawaii -- a big, beautiful beach that smells like flowers everywhere you go. The most stressed out New Yorker would sound like this guy after a few days.
  14. Is anyone else have an issue with the site. I keep getting "loading" -- I figure it's something with my Internet settings.

    Two Questions

I bought AM when it was released -- mainly because REM was a big supporter, so I figured I would too. But never really listened to it. One night in 2005, started watching IATBYH cos I could not sleep and fell in love. Had everything up to tht point within 2 weeks -- including Loose Fur and Golden Smog. First show was Starland Ballroon in 2006. With this SSF (which I count as 2 shows) I have 15 Wilco, 6 Jeff Tweedy, 4 Autunm Defense, 2 Pronto and 1 Nels & 2 Glen
  16. My first LRS -- and what an amazing experience. Still can't believe it happened. Let Me Come Home was my highlight (great job on piano, Kevin!). It is so gracious and generous of Mr. & Mrs. Tweedy to give back to the community and to us like this. But what I loved was that Jeff put 150 percent into the show. He sounded amazing and was hysterical. I don't reeally get alot of the Dead, too, so that whole conversation was great. And I really loved meeting and chatting with everyone before the show. Can't wait to meet up again -- braving the heat, cold, rain or snow in some line oustide the
  17. Dang, I was gonna say that.
  18. I had Heavy Metal Drummer as the ring back on my phone, friend Scott called and was like, Wow, great song. So I gave him my extra copy of YHF and now he's a fan. Not the crazy get in line 4 hours before doors on a freezing cold day in December fan like me, but enough. So, I guess Heavy Metal Drummer works for me.
  19. Thanks God! I'm not the only one who thought this.
  20. LOVE IT! To Jeff - How has that wool hat kept it's shape for all these years? (I'm just not that deep ... and this is something that is just totally preplexing to me.) AND -- Come us, tell us the truth, no one's hair can do that without alittle gel.
  21. 6 degree morning + leather interior + rayon pants = I'm-A-Wheel Wail Dang, it's cold in Jersey
  22. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHH Very very funny
