that's a good question. unfortunately, this sort of rights grab is becoming more prevalent with some bands. i've never seen festival owners do this, though I did hear that Coachella pulled this shit this year too.

Shrinebuilder is good but hasn't quite lived up to the potential yet. Dukes are great, totally agreed. the New Multitudes was a big success i'd say.

i submitted my shot yesterday. it was a fun little project.

i was there too. i missed the Q&A as my wife wanted to get back home so she could pack for her trip she was leaving for this AM. did anyone ask Garcia why Rhodes or Simonon weren't interviewed? it would have been good to get their perspective. Also - damn., Ian Dury had an exceptionally ugly band.

The Channel was a great club, but it wasn't small. I miss that place. Saw some outstanding shows there (Screaming Trees, Damned, Jesus Lizard, Meat Puppets, Butthole Surfers, Mudhoney, etc).

i'll be at the Newport show w/ my family. Should be fun (hoping the weather cooperates).

I hope they never repeat that travesty

no, we couldn't use flash and i didn't see any of the other pro shooters using one. it's funny since before the show started, the announcer specifically asked people to disable their flash in order to not screw w/ the projections, but i joked to my friend that likely 80% of the people would have no idea on how to change that setting. that sucks about the surround sound for you.
