  1. eh. although i do like "All You've Done" quite a bit. plus, virtually ANY band on the Flying Nun/Propeller/Ripper/South Indies/xpressway/etc label is underrated.
  2. this book was pretty good, even though i feel like SN were a bit of a minor player in that scene. https://www.amazon.com/Positively-George-Street-Matthew-Bannister/dp/0790007045/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1512488868&sr=8-8&keywords=positively+george+street
  3. Angel Olsen and Heron Oblivion were great last night. Angel's really matured as a performer, and she's got a great band behind her. Loved seeing Heron on the big stage, and it was a great hang w/ them... love those guys (and gal).
  4. i would agree that most LPs do come w/ an option to download mp3s. that said, it's not very hard to find them if they are not included.
  5. Drag City never includes download codes with LPs. their records are not on Spotify, either.
  6. Gary, went to Loon this weekend. i see you got one of Rich's business cards
  7. hip was great! did 11 runs and the legs gave out first. snow was good for this early, hats off to the snowmakers.
  8. have fun, should be a good show! i'd be there but our ski season kicks off this weekend... gotta head up to the rental and load it up. and also to test out my new hip on the slopes.
  9. maybe st vincent, if i ever hear back from the publicist.
  10. it's usually not my go-to style for metal, but damned if Power Trip's _Nightmare Logic_ isn't one of this year's best in any category. They were awesome last night... got a t shirt, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOWf8uqGf8A
  11. i'm three weeks late on this but hopefully you are feeling good. i had mine done this summer.
  12. yeah the dropoff from Furr to Destroyer of the Void was massive. never found my way back to that band.
  13. cannibal corpse, power trip, and gatecreeper
  14. check it.. distributed titles, too.... the 8LP Giant Sand box set for $54? yes please. tons of great things to pick through: https://lightintheattic.net/shelves/Fall%20Winter%20Sale
  15. i didn't love the new QOTSA nearly as much as I hoped i would. i really thought Like Clockwork was brilliant. this one, not so much. I am not as big a fan of the new Oh Sees lineup as the previous one, but this record is quite good. he was great on Maron's podcast too.
  16. never pissed or dumped there, but that airport design is a goddamned mess. no 'gates' so to speak of, just random places to congregate to grab a bus that takes you to your flight. when we left, the airport was totally jammed, and there were two flights (boston, toronto) using the same area that were leaving at the same time. people were all confused.
  17. I thought Psychedelic Pill and Le Noise were pretty good
  18. looking through my 2017 purchases and not counting live records or reissues, these stuck with me: Elder - Relfections of a Floating World Grails - Hymnal Chalice (those are the top two - here are 8 others) Mountain Movers - S/T Sundays & Cybele - Chaos and Systems Dire Wolves - Excursion To Cloudland Samsara Blues Experiment - One With The Universe Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever - The French Press Wear Your Wounds - WYW Slowdive - Slowdive The Oh Sees - Orc honorable mention to Kevin Morby, Courtney and Kurt, Crystal Fairy, Mark Eitzel, Shadow Band, The Obsessed. this year wa
  19. where do you personally draw the line for any supposed transgressions? is it all totally a zero tolerance policy just for politicians (or even before they ran for office), or for any job? don't mistake me for condoning any such behavior as normal. but people are not robots and do have flaws. is the one strike and you're out (not talking about rape or other sexual assault, more like via an unwanted kiss or hand on the butt) grounds for permanent gulag? get a fucking grip, man.
