  1. I totally agree. I have loved baseball all my life, but the game in its current state sadly just does not hold my interest.
  2. To be honest, I, too, gave up on Tame Impala when Currents came out. It was so different, and totally not what I expected. I don’t think I even made it all the way through one complete play. Then Patience came out and knocked me upside the head. So I went back and listened to Currents with fresh ears, and now I absolutely love it. I have come to realize that Kevin Parker is one of those rare individuals who is so talented that he can make a lot of different styles work.
  3. Yes, first time! I will PM you exact location.
  4. Listening to the lyrics on Purple Mountains this morning, I mean REALLY listening... This album is a combination of a cry for help/suicide note set to upbeat music.
  5. I saw Martin Courtney about a week ago.. He was very, very good, but a little out of sorts without his band. He said he had to focus more and make sure he strummed the guitar well.
  6. Just came back from my second viewing of Once Upon A Time....In Hollywood. Holy moly. *laughs* It’s been years since I’ve loved a film this much. Anyone else see it? Thoughts? NO SPOILERS. I think Brad Pitt was born to play the role of Cliff Booth.
  7. Me too, hopefully, if my painters are out of here in time
  8. I watched a lot of it too. I felt like Mueller came across as a broken old man, and it was painful to watch. I don’t feel like I learned anything I did not already know. I think his testimony hurt more than helped.
  9. 2019 albums that have caught my ear in a big way: Calexico and Iron & Wine Purple Mountains Bruce Springsteen J. S. Ondara
  10. Yes, I received mine a couple of weeks ago. Ordered from the Tweedy Store though, not Amazon, and delivery was within the US, so no long wait while in transit. It has been a long time since I ordered something from NZ, but recall it took a couple of weeks to get here from there.
  11. Oh boy, I have had a similar experience with my elderly next door neighbor and her daughter. These people have been almost like family to me over the years. We have maintained a very close relationship despite being polar opposites in our politics. I even drove my elderly neighbor to vote in 2016, she proudly wore a hand-painted Trump t-shirt. We laughed about it. But as it became clear over passing time that they were not changing their minds AT ALL, we drifted apart to the point where we barely say hello to each other, These are very religious people. My neighbor spends much of her ti
  12. For those with more money than sense. What exactly is worth $500 here? I could see $100, perhaps, if you wanted a fancy book, but even that feels like a stretch to me.
  13. I saw this last night and thought it was wonderful! It made me sadly regret I have never seen this band live. Did anyone else here see it?
  14. Wow, I had no idea! Poor Syd!
  15. As best I can tell, all this "update" is, is access to mp3 files for Warmer. When I ordered the CD set, I got access to the Warm tracks, now there is a folder for Warmer as well. I was hoping the "update" was the bonus track, but no such luck.
  16. I just received an email saying the Warm/Warmer CD set I ordered has been updated, and there is a link for me to download the updated version. My CD set is still in transit so I’m not sure how this new version is different. Does anyone have more info?
  17. I saw Echo in the Canyon today - Jakob Dylan’s loving tribute to the music that came out of Laurel Canyon from 1965-1967. This is some of my favorite music of all time. There were lots of old video clips, and lots of interviews with just about everyone involved in the scene. Totally worth seeing, but be prepared to see Jakob and friends like Beck and Cat Power performing this music. I was okay with that, and thought seeing Stephen Stills playing along in the studio with a guitar track recorded earlier by Eric Clapton was worth the price of admission in and of itself. David Crosby and Roge
