  1. Wow, that’s bad news. Glad I got to see them a couple of times over the years. One of my favorite bands.......
  2. One year after Charlottesville.... I went to see BlacKkKlansman today. Normally I would write about this in a different thread, but this film left me gasping, and needs to be mentioned here. I can’t believe what Spike Lee put into a major motion picture that I saw at my local mulitplex. 10 stars!
  3. Over time, one gets to know which artists repeat setlists and which ones shake it up more. It never enters my mind to see the set repeaters multiple times on a tour. Especially in this day and age with internet discussion groups and online setlists, it’s hard to NOT know which way any given artist leans. I don’t need to hear a completely different set of songs, but I wouldn’t be interested in hearing the exact same setlist. Waste of money even more than a waste of time.
  4. This is a new documentary about Trump and the Russians being released on August 31: https://activemeasures.com/ I saw the director of this film interviewed on CNN the other night. He is a fairly young guy from NY whose Dad used to be friendly with Trump, and he’s been thinking “this guy really loves Russians” for many years. He traced the Russian relationship back to the 80’s, and came to the conclusion that Manafort has been laundering money for the Ukraine oil trade over a year ago. The last interview for the film was done last September. Watch the trailer on that website, it is very
  5. The way he backpedalled today came across so amateurish, didn’t it? At this point I’m finding it incredible this man was able to run any kind of successful business. If I wasn’t an American, I would be laughing my head off over the events of the last two days.
  6. I saw Sorry To Bother You yesterday. “Bizarre” does not even begin to cover it. *laughs hysterically*. I give it a somewhat hesitant thumbs up (if you are into “outrageous!” LOL), but it’s definitely not for everyone.
  7. Creepy!! It had to happen with some deceased artist at some point. *shakes head* I’ll stay home and watch A Black and White Night instead.
  8. $30 round trip to Penn Station, plus at this time of day I have to change trains in Newark. No thanks! My standard thing is to drive to Hoboken and take PATH. Not at this time of day, not even to Secaucus. Not worth the stress to sit in that traffic. Have fun!
  9. Maybe I’ll try that tomorrow. It’s too late for me now for today - I live in the traffic capital of NJ and will not make it there in time if I were to leave now,
  10. What good deal? I’ve been trying all day and there is nothing under $100! Have a good time. . My days of being able to afford Radiohead are in the past, I expect. I’ve seen them twice, albeit a very long time ago. I guess I’ll have to be happy with that.
  11. I am pretty sure that photo is from 1984 or 1985, I’m just not sure what show I took it at.
  12. LOL Yes, the beard trim is a big improvement. Coincidentally, I was cleaning out a closet today and found a photo of that homeless grandpa that I took many, many years ago. Sadly, I can’t remember when or where I took it! But I found it in an 8 x 10 frame that I do remember I used to have hanging on my wall in my old apartment (25+ years ago). What a difference to the grandpa photo! (Edit: Hopefully when you click on that small picture, it will expand for you.)
  13. Congratulations! For both things!
  14. I am not generally an overly optimistic person, but I refuse to believe that this mess cannot be corrected as swiftly as it was created. I refuse to believe there is no hope. Because once one gives up hope, well..... “Foreseeable future” does not have to mean “not within our lifetimes”. And I would bet that I am at least 10 years older than you. I have to believe that all it takes is the right votes for the right candidates at the right time. Because if I don’t believe that, well.....
  15. Sometimes I feel like the majority of this country has become the living embodiment of Wall-E.
  16. I am curious to hear your opinion of this film. I did not like it, but after reading all the stellar reviews, I feel like I must have missed the point.
  17. Absolutely shocking and devastating! I would binge watch his show late at night when I couldn’t sleep and he was so easy going and seemed to always say things that made me think we were kindred spirits of a sort. I could totally imagine myself traveling the world with him! What a loss. I had no idea he had such demons inside his head.
  18. My favorite tracks, after a few times through over the weekend, are Last Lion of Albion, Halls of Sarah, and Sleep All Summer. I like Bad Luck a lot as well.
  19. I have always wanted to do that (Jeopardy). Good luck!
  20. Same for me. That is always the first one that springs to mind for me.
  21. Not at all. I try to ignore current day Morrissey. I love the Smiths. That first album was life-changing for me. I heard Still Ill on the radio driving to work yesterday and it sounded as great as ever.
  22. This piece of news did not even make me flinch. Is anyone surprised? I wouldn’t have predicted it on my own, but it makes perfect sense. Sean Hannity and Trump have been in each other’s pockets for a long time now.
