  1. What good deal? I’ve been trying all day and there is nothing under $100! Have a good time. . My days of being able to afford Radiohead are in the past, I expect. I’ve seen them twice, albeit a very long time ago. I guess I’ll have to be happy with that.
  2. I am pretty sure that photo is from 1984 or 1985, I’m just not sure what show I took it at.
  3. LOL Yes, the beard trim is a big improvement. Coincidentally, I was cleaning out a closet today and found a photo of that homeless grandpa that I took many, many years ago. Sadly, I can’t remember when or where I took it! But I found it in an 8 x 10 frame that I do remember I used to have hanging on my wall in my old apartment (25+ years ago). What a difference to the grandpa photo! (Edit: Hopefully when you click on that small picture, it will expand for you.)
  4. Congratulations! For both things!
  5. I am not generally an overly optimistic person, but I refuse to believe that this mess cannot be corrected as swiftly as it was created. I refuse to believe there is no hope. Because once one gives up hope, well..... “Foreseeable future” does not have to mean “not within our lifetimes”. And I would bet that I am at least 10 years older than you. I have to believe that all it takes is the right votes for the right candidates at the right time. Because if I don’t believe that, well.....
  6. Sometimes I feel like the majority of this country has become the living embodiment of Wall-E.
  7. I am curious to hear your opinion of this film. I did not like it, but after reading all the stellar reviews, I feel like I must have missed the point.
  8. Absolutely shocking and devastating! I would binge watch his show late at night when I couldn’t sleep and he was so easy going and seemed to always say things that made me think we were kindred spirits of a sort. I could totally imagine myself traveling the world with him! What a loss. I had no idea he had such demons inside his head.
  9. My favorite tracks, after a few times through over the weekend, are Last Lion of Albion, Halls of Sarah, and Sleep All Summer. I like Bad Luck a lot as well.
  10. I have always wanted to do that (Jeopardy). Good luck!
  11. Same for me. That is always the first one that springs to mind for me.
  12. Not at all. I try to ignore current day Morrissey. I love the Smiths. That first album was life-changing for me. I heard Still Ill on the radio driving to work yesterday and it sounded as great as ever.
  13. This piece of news did not even make me flinch. Is anyone surprised? I wouldn’t have predicted it on my own, but it makes perfect sense. Sean Hannity and Trump have been in each other’s pockets for a long time now.
  14. I am going to cut the cable cord within the next 30 days. Here in the NYC area, Playstation Vue carries YES network, ESPN, FS1, MLB network, NFL network, and local broadcast stations of ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX. As a Yankees/Jets fan, almost every game is covered there. I’m just curious as to what ultimately made you go with Hulu instead? Non-sports related reasons are of interest to me too!
  15. “Not a train wreck” doesn’t make it a good idea. I love Neil and I love Lindsey, but would greatly prefer to see Neil playing and singing his own songs! I find it difficult to imagine Neil Finn and Stevie Nicks getting along.
  16. Excellent! Can’t wait to read it. Btw, none of those preorder links lead to anything, but there is a working link on amazon.
  17. Oh no, Craig! I’m so sorry! Any chance you can go back to the old one?
  18. Yes, I heard Feed the Tree on the radio the other day and it sounded just as great now as it did then.
  19. Saw the Posies tonight, who did a breathtaking unmiked version of Big Star’s Thirteen. That in and of itself was worth the price of the ticket.
  20. *laughs* Interesting theory, Cowboy Poet. I agree with you on most points. The Crane Wife is sublime, and one of my favorite albums by anyone, Hazards of Love was really dreadful, wasn’t it? I hated that album so much that I did not even bother listening to The King Is Dead for a long time after it was released. That, of course, was a mistake. I didn’t listen to What a Terrible World that much either, but what I remember of it is good. Perhaps it was hit or miss. Didn’t like the new song much today, Love the Ben Franklin song though!!
  21. Wow, shocking. So sorry to hear. She had a truly lovely voice..
  22. Agreed! Two great games. I was yelling out loud at the end of both games. Watching Drew Brees move his team down the field so easily in that final minute and a half was impressive. I was sure NO had it wrapped up. But then WOW! I can’t imagine how awful the Saints felt after coming all the way back from 17-0 to have it snatched away in the final seconds.
  23. I love the crystal foxes! I got choked up as the end credits rolled, realizing that Han, Luke, and Leia are all gone now.
