  1. 2019 albums that have caught my ear in a big way: Calexico and Iron & Wine Purple Mountains Bruce Springsteen J. S. Ondara
  2. Yes, I received mine a couple of weeks ago. Ordered from the Tweedy Store though, not Amazon, and delivery was within the US, so no long wait while in transit. It has been a long time since I ordered something from NZ, but recall it took a couple of weeks to get here from there.
  3. Oh boy, I have had a similar experience with my elderly next door neighbor and her daughter. These people have been almost like family to me over the years. We have maintained a very close relationship despite being polar opposites in our politics. I even drove my elderly neighbor to vote in 2016, she proudly wore a hand-painted Trump t-shirt. We laughed about it. But as it became clear over passing time that they were not changing their minds AT ALL, we drifted apart to the point where we barely say hello to each other, These are very religious people. My neighbor spends much of her ti
  4. For those with more money than sense. What exactly is worth $500 here? I could see $100, perhaps, if you wanted a fancy book, but even that feels like a stretch to me.
  5. I saw this last night and thought it was wonderful! It made me sadly regret I have never seen this band live. Did anyone else here see it?
  6. Wow, I had no idea! Poor Syd!
  7. As best I can tell, all this "update" is, is access to mp3 files for Warmer. When I ordered the CD set, I got access to the Warm tracks, now there is a folder for Warmer as well. I was hoping the "update" was the bonus track, but no such luck.
  8. I just received an email saying the Warm/Warmer CD set I ordered has been updated, and there is a link for me to download the updated version. My CD set is still in transit so I’m not sure how this new version is different. Does anyone have more info?
  9. I saw Echo in the Canyon today - Jakob Dylan’s loving tribute to the music that came out of Laurel Canyon from 1965-1967. This is some of my favorite music of all time. There were lots of old video clips, and lots of interviews with just about everyone involved in the scene. Totally worth seeing, but be prepared to see Jakob and friends like Beck and Cat Power performing this music. I was okay with that, and thought seeing Stephen Stills playing along in the studio with a guitar track recorded earlier by Eric Clapton was worth the price of admission in and of itself. David Crosby and Roge
  10. Calexico and Iron & Wine
  11. Aw, he sounds fine! That “shot” quality is what I love about Jeff’s voice. His voice sounds warm and lived in. I thoroughly enjoyed that webcast. I am so looking forward to Radio City in October!!!!!
  12. Absolutely. I have never been a Springsteen fan, but this album takes my breath away. It sounds unlike anything I’ve ever heard him play, or even imagined he could play.
  13. Nice! I never did get around to getting a physical copy of Warm, so now I have them both for a terrific price! I went for the CD combo.
  14. This is such sad news. Dr John is a favorite of mine. Saw him several times over the years, once at Tipitinas. I’ve been listening to Gris Gris this evening...
  15. Seems to be playing in many places near me in the NJ burbs! I chose a theater 10 minutes away from my house. All set for July 11 and really looking forward to it.
  16. I got Row D 2nd Mezzanine at Radio City in today's presales. That's good enough for me. Yay, I'm seeing Wilco!
  17. There are two more presales tomorrow I can try. I will let you know. Thanks!
  18. Finally, a Wilco show on a night I can attend in NYC. But by the time I was able to try for a ticket, all that was left was the back of the upper upper upper balcony. I will try again, but will have to go for 1st or 2nd mezzanine as that is my price range. It would be nice if I could manage to see this band more than once! (My only time was way back on the Summerteeth tour!)
  19. https://www.apple.com/macos/catalina-preview/ “And rest assured; everything you had in your iTunes library is still accessible in each app.” Note the bar on the left has Apple Music separate from your Library
  20. I don’t think that is what is going to happen. It is only the name of the app that is changing, and the name change is only on Apple devices. iTunes for Windows will remain. I use the “Apple Music” app on my iPod touch all the time, but not as a streaming service, only to access my own library. I think you are panicking needlessly.
  21. What’s The Shed like?
  22. I didn’t make it to Diana Ross, but caught Smokey Robinson earlier and he sounded fantastic. It’s hard to believe he is 79 years old.
  23. This story completely warms my heart. Jeff Tweedy is one good egg.
