Mountain Jam looks good, but maybe too festival-y for me. There's something about Newport and Solid Sound that feel more relaxed. NFF is likely, but damn are those 3-day passes expensive!

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on NFF... I wish they'd release a few of the artists!

thanks for that.

Jeff Tweedy 12/5/13 Paramount Theatre, Denver CO
knotgreen replied to BoulderEagle's topic in After The Show
Thanks, Bbop, I was wracking my brain trying to come up with the setlist. A couple of things I wanted to mention: I was really impressed with how nice Jeff's voice sounded tonight. He may have goofed on some lyrics here and there, but I thought he sounded about as nice as I've ever heard him.I was thankful that the crowd was well behaved. After my experience at the Boulder Theatre a few years ago, I anticipated a lot of talking. I'm not sure if it's a northeast thing, or if Denver an anomaly... But doesn't the crowd usually sing most of Jesus Etc? I don't recall a time where Jeff was at the m -
How was it? I'm bummed I didn't make it to NYC for those shows. I suppose the sliver lining is that I saved myself a bunch of $$.

Jeff Tweedy 12/3/13 Kansas City, MO Uptown Theatre
knotgreen replied to Muzzle of Dan's topic in After The Show
Later, when the name of the late Jay Bennett, a former bandmate, was invoked, Tweedy responded: “He was my friend. Was he your friend? ... He would have hated you.” I'm curious as to what the context is for this comment? Looks like a great set, I can't wait for Denver. -

NPR is now streaming Songs: Ohia's Magnolia Electric Co. (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) and I can't stop listening to the demos. Particularly the demo of Farewell Transmission, the song that turned me on to Jason Molina's music. She was really entertaining. I don't know if I enjoyed her banter or music more... Either way, thinking of going to her show in Harvard Square on the 17th.
-
Amazing show! The crowd seemed really into to it (though I was hoping we'd stay standing for the encores). She and Kelly work so well together. Only bummer was not hearing Local Girl. Love those harmonies.

Lucky you. I'm hoping to see him this weekend.

Great voice, but they need to work on their live show. Boston's set was lacking momentum; the stage banter was cringeworthy at times. I did get both of their CDs though, I'm excited to give them a listen. BT were great. I'm getting over a cold and wasn't able to muster the strength to stay for the entire show. I'm not sure why they were booked for a 10:15 start on a Sunday night. Royale was empty, it was a bit embarrassing. A better venue and a different time slot and there would've been a more impressive turnout.

Saw them read from their new book and do a Q & A at the Brattle. It was hilarious... Even got a book signed by them afterwards. How was the show you went to?

Doesn't get much better.
