  1. Bill Janovitz (from Buffalo Tom)
  2. Magnetic Fields - The Charm of the Highway Strip
  3. Yup. He's pretty good at that fielding stuff.
  4. Saw Amazing Grace - the Aretha Franklin documentary - over the weekend. It is pretty remarkable. There's no real story - it's just film of the live sessions (in a church) of the recording of her album.
  5. Wow - thanks. Just looked on StubHub and tickets start at $7 ...
  6. I was interested, then thought I had a conflict so I never got tix, and now my night is freed up. Are you shooting?
  7. Picked this up the other night at the merch table - and it's really good.
  8. Another night of Robyn Hitchcock!
  9. Thanks for the great recap. Sounds like a weird night. Plateau! Wow. Did he play the whole thing? And his explanation was that it just popped into his head!?!
  10. Yup. Going to both. Bought tickets for Natick then thought I was going to be away so I bought tickets for Newburyport. Then realized that I wasn't going away so I've got lots of Robyn this week!
  11. Was he the very first person in line and works at Harvard? If so, we actually did speak (I was right behind him) but didn't make the VC connection ...
  12. That's awesome. I was about three people over to your right. Jeff clearly enjoyed having them right up front.
  13. All in all lots of fun but too short. Jeff tripped getting on the stage but recovered and joked about it. Some of the same banter that I've read about: Open kimono, lyrics to Guaranteed, etc. Set list was: Some Birds Guaranteed Family Ghost Hummingbird Don’t Forget Highlight for me was Hummingbird. There were two young girls right up front and he looked down and asked what they wanted to hear. Someone in the back (who may not have known the two girls were up front) shouted Radio King. Jeff scowled at him and said he was taking a request from the young people up front.
  14. I was 6th in line at 9:15. Got my wristband and getting some coffee now.
  15. I can't make the show at night so I may try to go to this ...
  16. Just watched the new Ricky Gervais show After Life - and thought it was great.
  17. I would never put this album in my list of top ten favorites but I also think it is sort of a perfect album. I don't think there's a bad note on it.
  18. Agreed. It really is an amazing show.
  19. I am about halfway through this and it's pretty great. It does a really nice job of explaining the big picture of The Troubles but also pointing out how it impacted everyday life for people in Northern Ireland.
