  1. Ha! You didn't like it? The person who recommended it to me told me it was bleak but also said season 2 was the best season. I liked Linden and Holder as characters. And after season 1 I had to keep watching to learn what happened!
  2. My wife and I just went through four seasons of The Killing - and enjoyed it. Sure looks rainy in Seattle ...
  3. I felt the same way - except the 2004 ALCS/WS was stress and lack of sleep spread over a ten day period ...
  4. As a New Englander, I am pretty happy with the outcome of yesterday's football game.
  5. Nice list - but Academy Fight Song is one of my favorite songs by any band so I'd have to squeeze that in somewhere.
  6. Jose Canseco's twitter feed - after yesterday's Hall Of Fame announcements - is pretty funny: https://twitter.com/JoseCanseco

  9. I could have written this exact same thing - except I wold say that I love Camper and like Cracker.
  10. What I have seen (but should be confirmed) is that Neko is in for the tour but Dan Bejar is not.

  13. I saw one of the Dead's Fall 1980 Radio City Music Hall shows on PPV at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. They later turned the footage into the Dead Ahead DVD.
  14. And the Monkees' I'm a Believer is another Neil freaking Diamond cover.
  15. Venus Stopped the Train! I Often Dream of Trains - Robyn Hitchcock Midnight Train to Georgia - Gladys Knight Slake Train Coming - Squirrel Bait Fear of Trains - Magnetic Fields
  16. Not exactly on topic but I heard Lou Reed's version of Heroin (from Rock and Roll Animal) before I heard the Velvet Underground version. I listened to Lou's version so much that I still think of it as the original version.
  17. As a Red Sox fan I'm happy about Sale but sorry to see Moncada go. That said, he looked pretty overmatched in his brief appearance in the majors this year (struck out 12 times in 19 at bats). I know it's small sample size and he's young so I expect he'll get it together.
  18. First one I remember is being shocked to discover that Signed Sealed Delivered was not a Peter Frampton original but that Stevie Wonder did it first. I saw Jerry Garcia cover Tangled Up In Blue. I bought Blood on the Tracks the next day and it has remained one of my favorite albums ever since Feelies covering Mannequin (Wire) Replacements covering Another Girl Another Planet (The Only Ones), Iron Man (Sabbath), and Black Diamond (KISS) REM covering Crazy (Pylon) Bangles covering September Gurls (Big Star)

  21. Anyone got some money to blow? Sotheby's is auctioning of some of Lou Reed's original type written Velvet Underground lyrics. They estimate this set will go for between $150,000 and $200,000. http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2016/rock-roll-n09587/lot.112.html
