I'm certainly not doubting Arrieta's amazing and historic second half but I wouldn't say he's a slam dunk for the Cy Young. If I had a vote I'd probably give it to him but I would bet a lot of people will vote for Greinke. He had the lowest ERA and WHIP in 20 years and had the 9th best ERA is baseball history. His ERA was never over 1.97 all season. I assume Kershaw comes in third - and I'm really curious to see if his post-season struggles continue.

My interest in MM begins and ends with Sun Kil Moon's Tiny Cities album. I've tried a bunch of their stuff but it doesn't do it for me.

Thoughts? I just bought it but haven't listened to it yet.

I thought Rape of Nanking was a really good and moving (and horrifying) book but I had no idea Iris Chang committed suicide.

Read this in high school and didn't quite get it. But I picked it up again and I'm really enjoying it. I think it helps to have been in New Orleans.

Ha! No offense meant. I think that one confused me more than the others and I have only seen it once so maybe I need to watch it again.

I loved it. I would definitely put it near the top. (Although I'm not sure what I'd put near the bottom. Life Aquatic maybe?) It was interesting to see some of his signature techniques being developed.

Had a funny experience last night. I'm a Wes Anderson fan and thought I had seen all of his movies. My daughter was going to watch Rushmore last night and I thought I'd watch it again. I realized about five minutes in that I had never seen it all the way through.

I realize it's not as exotic as many places mentioned in this thread but I was just in Ireland for 8+ days and it was great. I definitely want to go back and spend more time in the west.

Looks like McCann thought Iglesias didn't try hard enough on turning a double play and then on a grounder that Iglesias sort of waived at.
