  1. There was also the big squabble around soundboard recordings on archive.org with Phil on one side and everyone else on the other.
  2. When I lived in NYC in the 1980s I frequented the Tower on 4th Street. I remember walking in once and Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians were just starting an in store performance that included a great a cappella version of Uncorrected Personality Traits.
  3. I'm on the fence on that one. The subject matter looks great to me but most reviews I've read have been pretty mixed. He's doing a reading near me on Monday so maybe I'll check it out and decide then.
  4. I actually had the opposite experience (for Boston). My tickets arrived on Wednesday and I just got an email a few minutes ago saying they have been printed.
  5. Greg Norton on facebook earlier today: Whoa, slow down everybody. We're just trying to sell a few t-shirts. There is no reunion in the works. I'd like to thank everyone who shared theChris Riemenschneider piece, some of the headlines were a little misleading. I would like to encourage everyone to check out the web store, Grant Hart (as always) has done a great job with the shirt designs, look for new designs soon. I'd also like to wish Bob Mould a happy birthday.
  6. I just got two in the middle/back of the orchestra. Not crazy about the seats but I'll take 'em.
  7. I saw them at Agannis in 2005 and it did suck as a venue. My least enjoyable Wilco show ever.
  8. My take on the article was that Greg was saying that they are talking about issues related to licensing and merchandising not that they are talking about playing again. I suppose anything could happen but having read Bob's autobiography recently, I would be very surprised if they reunited.
  9. Ha! I came here to say the same thing. They looked terrible last night.
  10. I'm certainly not doubting Arrieta's amazing and historic second half but I wouldn't say he's a slam dunk for the Cy Young. If I had a vote I'd probably give it to him but I would bet a lot of people will vote for Greinke. He had the lowest ERA and WHIP in 20 years and had the 9th best ERA is baseball history. His ERA was never over 1.97 all season. I assume Kershaw comes in third - and I'm really curious to see if his post-season struggles continue.
  11. I know there is lots of discussion on the Dylan thread about emptying the archives, but the Velvet Underground are getting pretty good at it too. A box set of the Complete Matrix Tapes is being released: http://pitchfork.com/news/61429-the-velvet-underground-the-complete-matrix-tapes-box-set-to-be-released/
  12. They are still out there but their touring is pretty limited to the Boston to DC corridor. Here's a pretty good article about what they are up to: https://artery.wbur.org/2015/09/15/the-feelies
  13. My interest in MM begins and ends with Sun Kil Moon's Tiny Cities album. I've tried a bunch of their stuff but it doesn't do it for me.
  14. Thoughts? I just bought it but haven't listened to it yet.
