  2. GN'R was pretty great. Axl was seated in Dave Grohl's throne for the duration of the show due to his broken foot, but I would say they made the most of it otherwise. The band was right on. They hit some deep cuts that went over really well - Coma for example. It took 3-4 songs for the surreal aspect of seeing Slash and Axl on the same stage after 23 years to wear off and then it seemed very natural. I'm sure I'm biased in thinking the show was great. I had invested a lot in it. Money clearly, but also time. We got in line around 5, they went on around midnight and played for just over 2.5 ho

  5. I'm going to the GNR show Friday. Will check back in with a review. First concert I ever went to was GNR in 93. Then saw Axl's first comeback on 01-01-01 in Vegas at the House of Blues. Clips looked fun from last weekend. Tickets are pretty nuts for the tour though. While there are nosebleeds for $45 the entire first bowl of these stadiums is around $250.

  12. Informative interview. I can't believe the interviewer didn't follow up Jeff's "bullshit" on YHF somewhat. Would have loved to hear more on that. Also - Jeff's comment about Billy Corgan is out there. He doesn't usually jump into this kind of thing... "I worry about Billy. I think he seems like he’s maybe a little out of his mind."

  16. I had that same experience in Chicago a few weeks back. A lot of blah. Great on the record though.
  17. Bringing this back to solo shows, side projects etc: mikaeljorgensenFriends, TRIMBIN is coming. Along with my collaborators — musicians James Thomas, William Tyler and Nick Hallett (aka the Trimbin Band)— we've been working with the Hugh M. Hefner Moving Image Archive at the USC School of Cinematic Arts to review, digitize, and score the lost films of Fred Engelberg (1929-2012), a Los Angeles based filmmaker, folk musician, poet, and visionary whose projects have been lost to time. This March, the Trimbin band will present the first public screening of excerpts of Engelberg's films- along w
