  1. No. I don't think we've met before and I didn't know you were going to be there. Maybe at an upcoming Wilco event...
  2. I thought the show was great too. I'll add that the opening act was HOMME which is Sima Cunningham (of TWEEDY fame) and Macie Stewart. I thought they were cool. The covered a Jim O'Rourke song and said it was weird to play it given the headliners played on the original.
  3. Came across this on John's Twitter feed. Jason Narducy is great so I think this is a nice gig for John. The video is hilarious and a must watch imo http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/splitsingle
  4. Axl is a bad idea. They should just hang it up. Why risk ridicule after such an impressive run?
  5. I have a few other suggestions: Besides Marina City, you could take a walk around Adler Planetarium and The Shedd Aquarium. That is where the cover of I Am Trying to Break Your Heart was shot by Sam Jones. You could try to get into CRC which is where Wilco recorded music prior to the Loft and scene of the famous puking incident in IATTBYH. You could visit the old Soma Studios site in the heart of Wicker Park (which is a fun neighborhood). Soma is where Mikael used to work and a photo of the door to the studio is the cover of the Down With Wilco album by The Minus 5. Super Dawg was the
  6. "Wilco hits the road in full force starting June 1 in Charleston, WV and continues on to Hunter, NY's Mountain Jam and Philly before heading overseas for the first of two full European tours (Euro kickoff June 16 in Bergen, Norway). Then it’s back to the homegrown, that is, the US midwest, for shows in Kansas City, St. Louis, Madison, Minneapolis and Chicago. A west coast tour looms for September and there’ll be more surprises announced soon." Great email!
  7. Great list of songs and I'm sure that was pretty cool to play with Jeff. Thanks for reporting!
  8. From AC/DC's web site: "AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures. As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian's decision to stop touring and save his hearing. We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment. AC/DC will resume th
  9. “For weeks, rumors had been swirling around on the forums that GNR was playing a show at the Whisky on April Fool’s Day as a ‘warm-up’ for the tour. When Steven Adler’s current band Adler cancelled an April 1 show the Whisky, GNR fans saw this as a sign that Steven was joining GNR. But that’s not the case. A source close to the band told me that Adler is having back surgery, which is the real reason he pulled out of the Whisky show. I’ve also been told he’s not ready to tour with GNR, not yet, and maybe not ever.” but also, really?, Garcia and Lesh are Adler and Izzy of GNR? Axl, Slash and D
  10. If you like GN'R you would be hard pressed not to enjoy the shows they put on in Vegas this past weekend. I was there. I was an old school fan. The performance was great. Obviously, they are not everybody's cup of tea. I get that is fun to pick fun of Axl because of his personality.

  12. GN'R was pretty great. Axl was seated in Dave Grohl's throne for the duration of the show due to his broken foot, but I would say they made the most of it otherwise. The band was right on. They hit some deep cuts that went over really well - Coma for example. It took 3-4 songs for the surreal aspect of seeing Slash and Axl on the same stage after 23 years to wear off and then it seemed very natural. I'm sure I'm biased in thinking the show was great. I had invested a lot in it. Money clearly, but also time. We got in line around 5, they went on around midnight and played for just over 2.5 ho

  15. I'm going to the GNR show Friday. Will check back in with a review. First concert I ever went to was GNR in 93. Then saw Axl's first comeback on 01-01-01 in Vegas at the House of Blues. Clips looked fun from last weekend. Tickets are pretty nuts for the tour though. While there are nosebleeds for $45 the entire first bowl of these stadiums is around $250.
