New show in Alabama taking place on 7/3 goes on sale next week...

It's the only way that can keep a buzz around the tour. People will tweet about Grohl instead of Keith's playing...

Very late to the game. Anyone have an extra hotel room they don't need?

I went to the show in Chicago last weekend. The bass players were unique to each band - Saul and Victor. Although I know that that is not always the case and Saul sometimes plays CVB's set and Victor Crackers. They do take a break between bands. David did change shirts. Otherwise, besides the actual songs (which are way different) Johnny is an amazing guitar player which is a major difference from CVB. He's also known to smile - something you don't see in CVB.

holy freaking crap the Cult is playing Electric

I'm excited for the show too. Never been to their website: Billy's promotion of the Nokia Lumia 920 on that page is very strange to me. Lots of Fillmores and Houses of Blues. -
Where is my Jeff Tweedy playing a flying V in 2003 picture when I need it?

Always interested by the song choices you all make. Leave Me is a good call. Surprised by nothing from Uncle T or Summerteeth.

Doesn't look like the Chicago show sold very well on the first day of sales. I'm able to pull up some seats that are pretty sweet 8 hours after onsale...

Yes, and a higher # of songs referencing other acts' beards. Hope they play it on the tour.

I wonder how long ago the tour was conceived. If it was recent, will it push back work on new material? Answer me, VC!

This concept is about two things from what I can tell: getting people exposed to the music & making money. Each artist has a very good chance at picking up fans who don't know them, but love at least one of the other artists. Having 3-4 popular bands on the bill assures a large turnout (= large $ intake). To start early enough for MMJ and Wilco to play a full set would necessitate starting at 2:45 as far as I can tell (logic below) and people can't get to a show that early on a week day. 2:45 Ryan Bingy 3:15 set change 3:40 MMJ 5:40 Set change 6:10 Wilco 8:10 Set change 8:40 Dylan 10:3

Mark Knopfler opened and then performed with Bob as recently as 2012 although I don't think he helped with vocals.

Dylan is going to get blown off the stage by not one but two opening acts if my past experiences with all three bands is any indication. It will be interesting to see if he rises to the occasion. Is the Hoboken show essentially a NY show?

I doubt that the Stones pay their opening band much if anything. Why do we call a group of 50 year old men boys? Here is a comment Jeff made about the show they opened in 2007: Did you get autographs from the Stones when Wilco opened for them a few years back? J Kelleher, New York I don’t collect autographs – not since I got one from Joey Ramone when I was young. But yes, I did get some fantastic pictures of the Stones standing with my two kids, Spencer and Sam. There’s a priceless photo – my youngest son has a look of absolute terror on his face, being in that close proximity to Ron Wood! R

Caught the show at the Vic last night. It was a lot of fun. The setlist has gradually expanded since the European leg. I've seen them 20+ times so the only songs new to me were the covers: Hush, Street Fighting Man, Medicated Goo, but I thought that they did a good job of mixing the hits with some deeper cuts. Jackie isn't going to cut it long term. I'm not a Marc Ford freak. I enjoyed the band with Audley, Luther and Paul Stacey. Jackie just doesn't seem to have the feel of the lead guitar role.

Woman Wakes from Coma, Requests A Bob Seger Show
nalafej replied to Mr. Heartbreak's topic in Someone Else's Song
I saw Bob last weekend. He is so un-hip that it is cool. He doesn't care about being hip. Refreshing. If you like classic rock there is no way you don't like a half dozen of his songs. Does it make Wilco unhip that he is covering their song at all his shows? -
