  1. they are playing OKC for NYE again this year, as well as staging the March of 1000 Flaming Skeletons in the downtown OKC halloween parade this saturday...
  2. very nice... he's at the top of my list of musicians i want to see in concert but never have...
  3. Eric Heywood, who plays pedal steel on the new album, played with Son Volt...
  4. i can't remember the name of it, but when i had foot surgery a few years back, before they took me in they had me laying in a leather recliner with a blanket over me in front of a widescreen tv showing ESPN and gave me a Diet Coke... not only was that great, but even better was the IV they stuck in my arm to dispense the stuff that would knock me out and it was so cold going through my veins, but it felt so good... weirdly enough, that was one of the best feelings i've ever had!
  5. don't get me started on how awful the logo is... they'll still get my season ticket money, though!
  6. i believe i'll be hearing "Thunderstruck" much more than i used to, seeing as our new OKC NBA team is now named the Thunder... they even played "Thunderstruck" at the press conference... and i already didn't like that song...
  7. be glad you didn't see them in '86 like i did... they were terrible... i still need to apologize to Wayne for throwing beer cans at them...
  8. if you've got a leaked version, toss it and fork out $5 for a good cause... it's worth it...
  9. Kiss - 77 Aerosmith - 78 Yes - 79 Jethro Tull - 79 Queen - 80 Grateful Dead - 81 Kinks - 85
  10. well, i think the Seattle move is great, but i'm biased (and from OKC)... i do feel sorry for the fans in Seattle, though... hopefully they'll get their arena issues figured out and get another team in the future. part of the settlement was that the Sonics name, colors and history would be available to a new Seattle team. the OKC team will get a new name and colors this season...
  11. i went to the Tulsa show last week and was blown away... being on the front row didn't hurt, either! i'm not sure i've ever seen a frontman like him before - he commanded all your attention at all times. great band, too - they were watching him like a hawk... he's a pretty good bandleader too - it was interesting to watch the interaction between everyone... that crowd was rowdy, though - you wouldve thought it was a saturday night Wilco show at Cain's!
  12. i've used Trek and Cateye cycling wireless computers and the Trek crapped out on me after a year, and i've only had the Cateye for a month, but really like it... i got the Strada. it's got an easy one-button touch to it... i paid $60 from my local store. very easy to install.
  13. i like the Topps Heritage series...
  14. i love that movie. seriously. "we're a tribute band!"
  15. i think i'm going to have to forego the Dallas Cure show... with gas prices (driving from OKC) and the expensive Tom Waits tickets i'll be buying this friday, something's gotta give...
  16. just thought about it after reading this, but all 6 Wilco shows i've been to have been either GA or festival, none seated...
  17. i want this but don't want to pay $$$$$
  18. Avery Johnson, Mavs coach, fired today...
  19. you said it brother... you CAN do it all. you can sleep when you're dead, right? mmm... Kerbey Lane pancakes...
