  1. Robert, sorry, I didn't see your posts. Let me give the moderators a shake & see if we're up to revitalizing this project. VC went through a lot of changes in the past couple of years, and a lot of those who were once interested in doing songs for this seem to have dropped out. I'll get back to you & cousin tupelo.
  2. Here's the policy: No, it is not allowed to advertise anything for sale on Via Chicago.* However, there is no reason that a member can't contact friends on the board by private message if he/she thinks his/her friends might be interested in buying the vinyl albums he/she wishes to sell. Please, keep such pm's confined to your friends, and don't pm people you don't know. *With the obvious exception of the ticket exchange forums.
  3. Damn, Jen, how'd I miss your special day? So sorry to be late, but I hope you had a beautiful birthday & will have a glorious year ahead!
  4. Love and the happiest of birthday wishes to a wonderful concert buddy! For you, Sarah....Hummingbird cake! Have a wonderful new year of your life!
  5. Evonne, I am in awe of your talents! Those are incredible.
  6. YAY Binky! Looking forward to your recording, and glad you got a great show to make up for the unavoidably-cancelled one last year!
  7. Happy Birthday to somebody who can always manage to make me laugh! Have a great day & a great year!
  8. Well, I'm intrigued! What's it about, in 20 words or less?
  9. You made me snort with laughter. Unattractive, but fortunately I was alone. At least now I understand why TMM isn't managing Spoon anymore. Thanks for the clarification.
  10. Oh, Kate, his spirit surges from that photo. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Yes, I definitely see him in Emily. She carries what was best and brightest in him.
  11. I hug you across the miles for being easily amused.
  12. That looks fascinating, but deeply depressing! Snakes on a Plane(t).....how do you read it as recreational reading? But then some writers can make even such a topic pretty damned riviting.
  13. This thread is such a great idea, Jay. Your brother sounds like he was a wonderful, true original. Thanks for sharing him with us. I, too, lost a beloved brother not so long ago. Maybe I can find a nice picture to post. The missing never stops, but the pain fades, fortunately.
  14. Happy birthday, Lou! Sweets for the sweet. Have a great day & a great year!
  15. Love to one of the sweetest guys I know! Welcome to your 30's, they're gonna be grand! Now that you are settling into middle age, I made you a plaid cake! Now you just need socks and a sweater vest to match.
  16. You know you and yours are on my mind and in my prayers. So sad for you. Take it just one day at a time, sweetest. It'll get a bit easier to bear as time passes. Much love to you & your family.
  17. Yeah! What's disposable income?
  18. Wow, this is some chilling footage I'm seeing. I hope all of our members out in VA are ok. Hundreds of injuries reported, one death, and I'm sure the tallies will climb, given the range of the destruction. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/04/28/tornado.virginia/index.html Stay safe & take care of each other. Tornadoes are relatively uncommon in this region, aren't they?
  19. That just boggles the mind. How are people who have to drive to jobs supposed to survive? Sure makes a powerful case for advancing public transit in this area! Do you have to drive much, Maudie, or does the excellent public transit in the SF area spare you that?
  20. $3.91/gal here, today. I've cut so many corners lately that things are looking round.
