  1. Hell...I am 48...and not even close to being the oldest here...(represent Louie)
  2. We've heard them (the voices) a couple of times this year. And the plant on the board is the worst-kept-lost-secret EVER.
  3. I call bullshit on this one as I am practically a Mr. Mom and see less action than I did when I was 18 Men who do housework may get more sex By DAVID CRARY, AP National Writer American men still don't pull their weight when it comes to housework and child care, but collectively they're not the slackers they used to be. The average dad has gradually been getting better about picking himself up off the sofa and pitching in, according to a new report in which a psychologist suggests the payoff for doing more chores could be more sex. The report, released Thursday by the Council on Cont
  4. I work in the construction/real estate world. I drive a Chevy Avalanche. I love it so much. I have bought two. One in 2004 and one in 2007.
  5. Very appropriate for a gal from Arkansas to be named Loretta
  6. "Crowjack" originated in 1996 as an homage to the fictional Character Jack Crow, not the Mystery Science Theater character. I have been Crowjack on every message board, newsgroup, torrent group, etc. since. Most people who only know me from the internet call me Crow. I don't think anyone here or anywhere else on the internets know my given name. And if you pay attention, you will notice that I refer to my children, spouse and friends by nicknames alone: D-man, Magic K, Downtown, All the young girls love, Toby etc. I changed to the "Porkchop" and "Cornbread" given name because...I want a
  7. Don't think we've heard the last about the Caucuses (cauci?) in Texas. There were severe irregularities in the Dallas area, including Obama supporters barring Clinton supporters from the Caucus sites. (I have a friend who's Sister was physically barred from entering a caucus site). The newly politically active sometimes have to learn how to act in a civil manner (to say the least).
  8. As a matter of fact, I was walking out of the office to day with a friend and he saw the burned cds I was carrying out. "Whatcha got there? "Wilco" "Wilco?" "Yeah, Wilco. They are a band I really like." "Oh...what kid of music?" "Alternative folk rock with excellent musicianship and Dylanesque lyrics."
  9. fixed it for ya I would have preferred Side with Seeds and The Thanks I Get. These two songs are radical departures from the typical "Wilco Sound" and emblematic of where the band is strong. Well crafted songs with room for the individuals to shine (Nels on the live versions of Side with Seeds is sublime). Didn't I read somewhere that Jeff wrote The Thanks I Get for Solomon Burke?
  10. With Kima blowing the whistle on McNulty's scheme, it looks like Marlowe and most of his crew will walk. Chris is gonna take the fall for the 23 bodies. But what will become of McNulty and Michael?
  11. The records that I end up loving best are the records that challenge me as a listener. Wilco has consistently reinvented themselves. I find that A Ghost is Born has aged very nicely and Sky Blue Sky has really grown on me. I felt that SBS was bit sleepy and plodding at first, but damnit if it didn't open itself up after repeated listens. This Tweedy guy has got something in his bag.
  12. I hear Mariachi static on my radio And the tubes they glow in the dark And I'm there with her in Ensenada And I'm here in Echo Park Carmelita hold me tighter I think I'm sinking down And I'm all strung out on heroin On the outskirts of town Well, I'm sittin' here playing solitaire With my pearl-handled deck The county won't give me no more methadone And they cut off your welfare check Carmelita hold me tighter I think I'm sinking down And I'm all strung out on heroin On the outskirts of town Well, I pawned my Smith Corona And I went to meet my man He hangs out down on Alvarado Street B
  13. It's discovering new bands like Band of Horses that keep me excited about music. I was going to once again combat my agoraphobia and take D-man to see them at the Palladium in Dallas earlier this month...but I fucked up, forgot the date they were coming and missed them. I really love this band. They, along with My Morning Jacket, the North Mississipps All-Stars and the Drive By Truckers are presenting a new face on 'Southern' rock that I can identify with. It ain't your daddy's south anymore.
  14. chicago green, talkin' 'bout Black Lebanese A dirty room and a silver coke spoon Give me my release, come on Black napalese, it's got you weak in your knees Just seeds and dust that you got bust on You know it's hard to believe 30 days in the hole That's what they give you I know Newcastle Brown, I'm tellin' you, it can sure smack you down Take a greasy whore and a rollin' dance floor It's got your head spinnin' round If you live on the road, well there's a new highway code You take the urban noise with some Durban Poison It's gonna lessen your load What you doin' boy? You
  15. You know...i read somewhere it is an unrealeased song that I think was rumored to be on Sky Blue Sky at one point
  16. Dude...that is uncalled for and you should be ashamed of yourself. This is a PUBLIC FORUM. It does not exist just on your computer. By stating this 'rumbling and rumor' you have, in fact, made it a part of the record for the world to see. It doesn't matter that you state it was just a rumor...the internet has a life of its own and no shelf life. I expected better from you.
