Hate to Get So Personal
Sweet Papa Crimbo replied to Wilco Worshipper's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
A question here... Did Tandylacker delete his posts or were they deleted by a moderator. I hope the former: it would mean he realized he was being an ass and was trying to fix it (after a fashion). Although a post saying "Geez, didn't mean to be such an ass" would have been better form. -
I know...but I'm off the meds so it was off to the races. If you have ever read the Springsteen usenet boards you would understand. Springsteen has become a lightening rod for the cynical music 'experts' who decry every recording that isn't Darkness on the Edge of Town. I was hoping this shit wouldn't follow me here.

Shit...not a single show south of Missouri...

See her picture in a thousand places 'cause she's this year's girl You think you all own little pieces of this year's girl Forget your fancy manners Forget your English grammar 'Cause you don't really give a damn about this year's girl Still you're hoping that she's well-spoken 'cause she's this year's girl You want her broken with her mouth wide open 'cause she's this year's girl Never knowing it's a real attraction All these promises of satisfaction While she's being bored to distraction being this year's girl Time's running out, she's not happy with the cost There'd be no doubt, only sh

Taking the D-man to his first show/concert at the Palladium Tomorrow night. Should I be tracking some Dr. Dog for us to familiarize ourselves with or should we show up fashionalby late? (In othe words, is Dr. Dog going to be something to tolerate or something to enjoy?)

You see, you miss the point. I don't WORSHIP anybody's 'Lyrics'. But to say that Springsteen's lyrics are weak is ridiculous. Does Springsteen at 58 write with the same verve as he did when he was 24? No. But to write off a career filled with transcendent songs such as Spirit in the Night, Lost in the Flood, Saint in the City, Incident on 57th Street, New York City Serenade, Thunder Road, Born to Run, Jungleland, Darkness on the Edge of Town, Racing in the Streets, Ties that Bind, The River, Independence Day, Stolen Car, Drive All Night, Atlantic City, State Trooper, Reason to Believe, Born

Sorry... My initial response to this post was rather curt and rude. But C'mon...this may be the stupidest most meritless thing I have ever read on a music board. II will not even entertain the standard It's my opinion, so you can't tell me I'm wrong reply. There are some things that are so outrageous that they must not be given any creedence.

I love Candyfloss. I find in inconceiveable that it almost didn't make the cut for Summerteeth (hidden track to boot).

Aman...are you being intentionally or unintentionally ironic? Every cloud has a silver lining, every dog has his day She said, "Now don't say nothin' if you don't have something nice to say." The tough, now they get going, when the going gets tough But for you my best was never good enough "Now don't try for a home run, baby If you can get the job done with a hit" Remember, "A quitter never wins and a winner never quits" "The sun don't shine on a sleepin' dog's ass" And all the rest of that stuff But for you my best was never good enough "If God gives you nothin' but lemons, then you m

That's what I get for spending all my time on a WILCO board. Lost contact with all my Brucetramp pals who used to hook me up with promo copies and burns. Now, I have to read you guys alternately rip and praise it while having to wait until October. Nice. don't suppose somebody could hook a tramp up?

Gotta love the home cooking Texas got. At least the Walt Anderson acknowledged the 'error'. Texas is overrated. However, at least they don't have guys in convict clothes (all white) and storm troopers on the sideline (said with love from an Aggie).
