  2. I know the answer for this is here somewhere but I can't find it so apologies in advance. Is the entire floor one price? Or is there a "pit' or reserved section on the floor? thanks
  3. If this is turning into a game, I'd say Radio Nowhere, Promised Land, Badlands and Born To Run
  4. I suspect copyright law would prevent them from selling reproductions.
  5. I agree 100% on Nels. Very outgoing and very appreciative. I found Pat to be a little stand-offish. I found Glen and Mikael to be very accomodating. Considering that they deal with that stuff all the time, they handle it extremely well.
  6. I would say that's more of a get-up than an outfit.
  7. I saw it on the weekend and totally enjoyed it. After seeing the first movie, my expectations were 0 - but I say it delivered. I was good with the story line. With respect to the TV series, I thought at times the supernatural stuff got a little too far out there to really be believable. This was a good mystery, with a bit of the "spooky stuff" included. I probably could have waited for the DVD but I had some time to kill and it was a good choice.
  8. Shouldn't the drunken driving charge be the same regardless of how serious the injuries were? And none of this is as troubling as the Andy Dick mug shot that shows up on the Tribune page.
  9. I lived in Yellowknife for 12 years. I saw the Northern Lights lots of times and they never got old. Amazing.
  10. This feels a bit like a guilty pleasure thread to me.... I guess I'm a closet fan. I think I might even have a copy of their self-released debut cassette somewhere. But like many others here, I haven't paid much attention in about 10 years. The coverage here in Canada is pretty sad. Steven Page leaving the bar because his girlfriend is flirting with somebody else..... The roommate sitting on him so he doesn't drive back to Toronto (from Syracuse). Cripes man.
  11. We don't have a football team (not even a CFL team) so nobody seems that worried but part of the stands at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa were deemed to be unsafe. So this morning at 8 am, they blew them up. blew up
  12. I saw the Bluesfest show last night. I really haven't paid that much attention to the solo stuff and judging from last night, that's a shame. I assume he picked the best material but I thought the new songs were very strong. And he's such a consumate performer. It was a really great show and I almost didn't go. I'm so glad I did.
  13. Dude, Jude, the rest of you. I don't know if it actually happened or not, but my 30th has already passed. So I'm older than dirt.
  14. "Canada Day Up Canada Way" Stompin' Tom Connors It's Canada Day, up Canada Way on the first day of July And we're shoutin' "Hurray" up Canada Way when the Maple Leaf flies high When silver jets from East to West are streaming through our sky We'll be shoutin' hurray! up Canada Way, when the great parade goes by. Oh Canada, standing tall together. We raise our hands and hail our flag, The Maple Leaf forever. It's Canada Day, up Canada Way on the coast of Labrador; And we're shouting Hurray! up Canada Way, on the wide Pacific shore. People everywhere have a song to share on Canada's holida
  15. In the "it's a small world" category, I was at this show too. Larry's was a total dump but they had some great shows. I remember seeing Los Lobos, The Fall, and Flipper off the top of my head and know I saw many others there too. The REM show was very good as I recall.
  16. Yeah, I saw C'mon once and they were pretty great. Ian Blurton also produced the latest Weakerthans record and deserves props for that.
  17. I saw $1.35/litre today. I think that translates to $5.11/gallon.
  18. I forgot how wonderful "Why Must I Be Sad" is. I'll replace "The Statue Got Me High"
  19. "Serious" coffee drinkers say Tim Horton's coffee is crap. I don't drink much coffee but Timmy's is the only coffee I do drink. I'm borderline addicted to it. I think it's actually nicotine they're adding.
  20. I listened to this a bunch of times over the weekend and One For the Cutters is one of my faves on this record. I can take or leave the harpsicord but it doesn't bother me.
