I actually got an email from Tad earlier this spring which suggested NO Canadian dates. This seems to confirm that. Shit!!!

John Rutsey, original Drummer for Rush dies
bobfrombob replied to jff's topic in Someone Else's Song
I've told Analogman this story about 30 times but I saw Rush with at my high school. This was long enough ago that Rush was actually opening for a Beatles cover band called Liverpool. I was more less oblivious to the line up back then, but given the timelines, I'm pretty sure it must have been Rutsey. It was more "heavy metal" Rush than "progressive" Rush so that's also consistent with the Rutsey era. -
No, in fact things or events can be put in order from most recent to first, or from first to most recent. Either way is "in order".

If you re-think this, you will see that in fact I am correct. You are looking at the exercise too narrowly.

Bruce's "policy" hasnt' really changed but I believe that his stance is way more relaxed now. He is still pretty strongly opposed to people selling live recordings but I think he has resigned himself to fans trading and sharing. He doesn't allow it but he knows it's happening. In fact, I know a pretty serious collector who has been contacted a number of times by people very close to Bruce to obtain copies of specific shows.

Although pretty much everybody puts AM first, there is an argument to be made for putting it last. Unfortunately, there is no such argument for putting YHF first (or last).

The Quasi-Official NHL Thread

San Jose has been impressive in these playoffs - NOT! Squeked by Calgary in 7 games and down to Dallas now too. I think it speaks a bit to parity and how tough the west is, but it also suggests that SJ is not as good as a lot of the pundits said. -
I find The Doors incredibly tiresome. No interest in them whatsoever.

I have lots of love for the Bee Gees and pretty much unlimited love for the Beach Boys. However, in answer to the above, I would submit: -

There are 4 or 5 teams in the west that can beat anybody in the east (ie Pittsburgh or Montreal). I think SJ is the team but they'll have to get by Calgary and the others.... -

This team has been playing that way since at least December. With Alfredsson in the lineup (and Fischer as well), the way they have played in 08 might have taken the Penguins to 6 - at best. Without them, they'll be lucky to win a game. This team would have been much better off missing the playoffs. Then there would be no doubt that they need a serious heart transplant. -

No, so if you're having trouble coming up with an idea for my birthday, that would be perfect

Sorry, no Jeff content here: I sent an email to The Hold Steady the other day and Tad replied.

OK, now you've gone too far. Seriously though, I far prefer his solo stuff to the Style Council. Wild Rose, As Is Now and Stanley Road are all totally solid.

I'd say: 1. But I

Charleston Rescheduled???: The Merged Superthread!
bobfrombob replied to mrrice's topic in Just A Fan
I can understand you being disappointed but if this is meant be the basis of an argument that Radiohead is more fan-friendly or less greedy 'cause they gave away their album, you haven't been paying attention. -
I'm very fond of this one
