This album could have been SO good. I'll settle for what it is though.

I'm going to see Sigur Ros there next week and just want to know what to expect. There are no seats in the theater area, but I've read that sometimes they'll set up chairs for shows. Should I expect to be standing throughout a Sigur Ros gig (kinda odd)? Also, is the neighborhood kosher? I've only been to KC once before and it was not in this area.

I just heard "Festival" tonight. EPIC. Do check it out. The deluxe edition is a whopping $100, but I think I might spring for it. People are talking this album up like it's going to be a benchmark for bands in the future (much like In Rainbows, which was $80 for me). Can't wait to see them in a week!!!

When the Roses Bloom Again at Chipotle. I must say, the stations they pick at Chipotle are pretty stellar for restaurant music.

Gobbledigook - Sigur Ros This song makes me anticipate the new album even more. The trip to Kansas City to see them in a couple weeks is now a definite.

Yes'm. I am such a Radiohead nerd (and Wilco nerd for that matter) that I can know which song a band is playing by looking at who's playing what. And if I'm a little confused, the lighting is usually a dead give away.

Okkervil surprised the heck out of me. I had gotten Black Sheep Boy and The Stage Names last month and really got into the sound; but the live performance is spectacular. Probably overshadowed the NPs last night. I know that they're doing something like 8 days in a row to close out the tour, and it showed last night. There wasn't the normal energy coursing through the place last night. Maybe it was because the orpheum FUCKING SUCKS! Minimal rant: I hope I never have to see a show there again. The setup doesn't allow for the band to feed off the audience and vice versa; it leaves you craning up

I thought Ilco locks/keys were pretty ubiquitous. On a related note, I went to a presentation by this man a couple days ago. I'll admit, I went just because of his name, but he's one of the world's leading climatology researchers; puts on a good show. I meant to get a copy of the flier that was posted, but it was gone before I could ask someone if I could have it.

Got WASTE tickets for Philly and Cleveland, TM for Boston, and I will be in the masses at Lolla. I've always wanted to see Radiohead at a festival, especially up close. They love playing for great gobs of people and they usually break out Talk Show Host (Thom refers to it as "a festival song").

Kid A/Amnesiac/In Rainbows/OK Computer/The Bends Hail to the Thief Pablo Honey Best 4 album span of all time. It would be 6, but I don't consider HTTT a stone-cold classic like those other 5.
