After they played Kingpin they left the stage, began to disassemble the stuff but none of us left. The guys came back out and did "ELT" and "Hoodoo Voodoo" ... Pat and Nels trading solos in HV was simply amazing. Unbelievable show.

Crap. Looks like my connection died after Kingpin. Thanks AT&T. Anyway, that was awesome. I have to say, I can't recall ever seeing any other true encores like that. Wild!

Just back from the show... add ELT and Hoo Doo to the end... the crowd was cherring and clapping over the music and the crew disassembling and the house lights on...just refused to leave til they came back for two more..

One of the best shows I've seen, better than last night and that is sayin something. What an amazing show!

Some strange stuff:

Had an extra ticket and get there at 8:25. walked up to an obvious fan who was bummed at standing in the cold. Offerd him the ticket for face value. He was incredibly skeptical. He said "Why so little?" I said "because that's what I paid for it. If you would feel better paying more you can give me $1 more." It was what is known in the biz as a joke. He gave me a fifty and told me that that was all he had. He began to walk in. I ran up to him and gave him the $15 change. Bizarre. Didn't seem even happy about getting in.

the crowd was much less fratty catty than last night. Only saw one taper. Sound was great throughout, was at the top in the last row and then made it into the pit at the break.\

Bird was too low in the mix for my taste but it was nice to see. He missed the first verse of Passenger Side. Mr Tweedy mentioned hemust have been napping.

Hoo Doo was a brilliant mess and was actualy stopped 1/3 in becuase Jeff said something didn't sound right. They started it back up and then played it with passion. It was nice to see the band out of theplanned set list and their comfort zone a bit, even though it was an older tune... will be great to see the next three...

Both of these shows were really good. I would give the edge to last night's show though.

sorry, but i have to say you're crazy there. if you went to both it's a lot closer, but take out the repeats from both nights and compare. tonight's second half was almost better than the whole show last night.

I did go to both, I preferred the first night, and I'm not sure why that makes me crazy. I thought that there was more energy, more anticipation, and more surprises. You preferred the second night. Does that make you crazy? Sheesh.

I was there both nights and as an EXPERT I can unequivocalbly say that, taking both nights into consideration, that .... that.... that... I really like Wilco.

Oh my. These shows have been just amazing, and I'm having such a fantastic time. After Andrew came out for "Jesus" tonight I turned to some friends and proclaimed that now that we knew he was in the house, "Dreamer in my Dreams" with Andrew Bird would pretty much be the best thing ever. And lo and behold...

Here are a couple of pictures. I'll have more up at some point soon (I promise, Johnny!) I can't wait for the rest of the shows. I love seeing everyone, too...

Yes, it should be mentioned, and fast, that John got a huge ovation after Simple. Jeff even said that it was a long time coming. Best show I have ever seen (26th Wilco show). I have never seen a real encore at a show at this level (2000+ people). Unreal. The backdrop had been raised for god's sake.

OMG, I am still on a high from that show!

So happy I bothered entering that contest on the band's website. My friend and I were able to get two seats in the front row center of the overhang, so perfect view/perfect sound.

I shot some vids so will have to post once I get back home to NYC.

Better go to bed soon so I can get ready for the hockey game, eh?

Thanks again to the band for providing such lovely music, and the music gods for picking my name out of the hat.

Cheers, windy city!

this was the best wilco show i've seen in a loooooong time. WAY better crowd tonight, the kind of crowd that wouldn't budge after the show ended- this was my first "real" encore I think (how about that, LouieB!). They were totally gone but it was obvious no one was going home. Dreamer, Hotel AZ, Its Just That Simple were highlights but I totally loved everything. Thank you people in the stage left front balcony for making this an enjoyable evening for me- you were all appropriately into the music without being assholes.
