renic
The sing-along at the bar was truly special, I doubt I will ever have that opportunity again. I'm not usually a sing-along kinda gal but it was so organic and joyus. And what a great DJ - several Wilco AND Replacements songs...can't beat that! who were you? i was the obnoxious one. i know that most of us are on here but fuck if i can remember names & i only had 2 (very weak) drinks. ms. yvon
DASH 7! phenomenally beautiful! just stunning. to quote allison in re: this week: "how much more good stuff can happen?" some moments from night two:--mikael's face when yelling during "kingpin"--john not being able to keep a straight face during "just that simple." he kept turning away from the mic and shaking his head.--the show opening cue gaff that left jeff standing on stage while the newhart theme played out.--andrew bird andrew bird andrew bird. holy cats.--watching andrew and nels communicating, watching each other across the stage--the perfect complement of jaw-droppingly beautiful to full-throat hollering songs--during the hoodoo-v. duel watching nels smile and nod as pat finished his play and handed off to nels--after the lonely 1, hearing the crowd cheering, and after a minute or two turning around to see that no one had left. everyone was on their feet cheering. nice!--icing on the cake: after the show, at dinner, foolinrain walking in looking dazed. when i asked him if he was ok, he explained that he'd had a set list land on him, rec'd an after show pass, and met 4 of the guys in the band. i'm going to remember the look on his face for a long time. Brian Skalinder
Is tapers.org the place this is hosted? If so is ftp4all the password, and username? I tried to login using these and could not get on.That's correct: hosted at tapers.org, login = ftp4all, and password = ftp4all. I just logged on with FileZilla (an FTP client) and it worked fine. oceanman
Just got home and want to say thanks for everyone making Amy and I feel at home. Sorry for anyone who had to see me cry during Dash 7, hell I even cried after the show talking about. Best Wilco show I've ever seen, and possibly the best trip for that matter. I talked to a few of the horn players and they said that their playing all 5 nights. Also Talked to the Birdman afterwards and said he'll be droping in from time to time! See you guys soon, and thanks for the Chicago hospitality!
