JUDE
Look on the bright side. At least they'll be touring this summer. And your ticket(s) will still be good. I haven't seen Wilco live and in concert since 2003. Well we know you're not one for road trips so you must be pretty well dependant on their tour schedule having stops within biking distance

I haven't seen Wilco live and in concert since 2003.Dear Mr. Smarty Pants. We saw Wilco Live at the 930, with Ction and Ms Yvon in Feb of 2005. Now, stop picking on the poor southerners. You know how little they have to look forward to. Let them wallow.

I haven't seen Wilco live and in concert since 2003. You have obviously never been to a show at the PAC. The ticket situation is going to get all sorts of messed up. People will be getting refunds and the staff at the PAC will most likely double book about every seat there. I know ticketmaster is involved as well, so what could possibly go wrong with them helping out the situation?
froggie
my train was cancelled this morning, but it was rescheduled to come 20 minutes later
JUDE
I drove to Boston once (from Providence) to see Neko Case, and it's about as far to Merriweather Post and the 930 Club from my old apartment in Centreville. So probably within an hour or so. I'm sure I'd drive to Richmond, which is a little farther from where I am now. I did drive to Charlotte, NC from Charlottesville, VA for a concert when I was in college, but that was like 40 years ago. Did you ever follow the Dead around?

badu2fan
SO I love this band and have followed themfor years buying albums etc. I just wonder if we are seeing the end of the norm. Has Jeff decided to not look back. VW commercials and now SNL and crashing the plans of 1200 fans most of them that would travel to charleston. this isnt like NYC where everyone rides a subway to show and home. I was going over 200 miles each way. But when you walk away from your paying customers to get paid by the big TV folks I just get to thinking we might be seeing the end or a good thing. Waiting til august to see the band play a year old album will be a let down. I know they will try to make it up to us but just not sure how you go out in front of 1200 folks and say hey sorry we F*** you in February but hell we are back now.... Hope time will heal but this is a cheap shot. Why not say hey we can do it before we head to austraila in a couple of weeks. Jeff you owe us big for this one. And Lorne you suck...... TheMaker
I don't think it's selling out, but I think it's a dick move to cancel a proper show to appear on a horrible, horrible TV show that's been unwatchable for years.
Good Old Neon
I was not aware of this - that is sort of shitty. I'd be interested to hear the band's justification for this one.

solace
dudes... lets stop this stupid notion that people get PAID to perform on SNL & Late Night TV... please? do people honestly think this??????????
markosis
crashing the plans of 1200 fans most of them that would travel to charleston Yes, I'm sure Wilco takes into account everyone's travel plans when making such decisions. And I'm being a sarcastic prick.
Dr. Steve Brule
In the future perhaps people traveling to shows should make reservations at shitty motels like Motel 6 where you can cancel the reservation.
poppydawn
Six million viewers for SNL last week vs. 1200 fans at one show. If you're working for a friend and getting paid minimum wage, and get offered a job with a $200,000 annual salary, which do you take? I'm not sure why it's expected that artists should pass on excellent career opportunities. Why should they be exempt from the career advancement that's expected with other careers? Cred is all well and good, but it doesn't provide for health insurance, mortgage payments, funds for new albums, retirement, and food on the table. I know it sucks that the show was postponed. Yeah, if I had tickets, I would be terribly disappointed. I've been in that boat before and guess what? I survived. But I'd also be glad that a band I love was being given an opportunity to bring their music to a bigger audience. I figure I've gotten so much from their music over the years, the least I can do is not bitch when they're granted an opportunity to advance their careers. Don't they deserve that level of success? I think so.
