people are leaving
the correct cover is up on wikipedia. the line-up was different. from what i've heard, only 200 copies were printed and sold at shows. personally, i don't really care for it. it's so much generic indie-pop to me... -justin I agree with the generic 'indie' comment. The last track is the only one that remotely sounds like the ep or s/t release.
TheMaker
Just like their record! Yay! One Shins is more than enough, I think. (New and Improved! Now with choral vocals and round robin singing! New, sort of, for indie pop!) Cough. Sorry. Really not digging on the acclaim for Foxes or Bon Iver, though. So painfully standard, both of them... Best of '08 by me looks like this, basically in order: Alejandro Escovedo - Real AnimalThe Drive By Truckers - Brighter Than Creation's DarkThe Hold Steady - Stay PositiveShe and Him - Volume OneThe Eddy Current Suppression Ring - Primary Colours*MMJ - Evil Urges**Bonnie Prince Billy - Lie Down in the LightRy Cooder - I, FlatheadNick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Dig, Lazarus, Dig!Sloan - Parallel PlayT Bone Burnett - Tooth of CrimeThe Black Keys - Attack and ReleaseElliott Brood - Mountain MeadowsOkkervil River - The Stand Ins Lumps of poo that are crappy (or, my biggest disappointments of the year to date): Matthew Sweet - Sunshine LiesWolf Parade - Zommy Zoomy Zimmy (whatever the fuck, I can't remember the title)The New Odds - CheerleaderThe Kills - GoodnightR.E.M. - Accelerate *Look at me, all ahead of the curve. This is a Melbourne band who sound exactly like 1977. Think Wire, early Jam basslines and just fucking amazing (and amazingly loud) real punk.**Fuck the critics, yo.
