chuckrh
No, but here's Motorhead's: (not to be confused with Justin Beiber's) I like the Motorhead cover
Winston Legthigh
I like the Motorhead coverI do too, even though I think it sounds too polished.

calvino
Well I do like listening to Dire Straits from time to time... from CNN Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, and Nina Simone are the 2018 inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the organization announced Wednesday. Gospel pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe was chosen to receive the Award for Early Influence.
Analogman
Good to see The Cars and The Moody Blues in there.
calvino
I did always like that cartoon/computer generated video that the Cars put out.
Analogman
That first album was a big deal at the time. Everyone had it. I think I had it on 8-Track.
calvino
I remember my siblings having the first one and Panorama during that time - but it must have never grabbed me.

remphish1
WTF Jovi in over Radiohead and Depeche Mode?!... And I am from Jersey!
Lammycat
I remember my siblings having the first one and Panorama during that time - but it must have never grabbed me.Panorama was pretty tepid....
Analogman
I remember my siblings having the first one and Panorama during that time - but it must have never grabbed me. The first two are probably the best. Down to the Waterline is one of my favorite Dire Straits songs.
calvino
I watched Dire Straits' Alchemy DVD for the 1st time this past year - really enjoyed it. Probably should check it out from the library again.
Analogman
Now I am thinking of the film Local Hero (1983).
calvino
Never heard of it - had to look up the connection. Looks good.
Analogman
It's one of those films we use to watch on HBO back in the day. Probably not too many fans here - but Days of Future Passed is a ground breaking album. In Search of The Lost Chord is also great. The rest are hit and miss for me. Sir Stewart
Local Hero was on all the time back then. I like one Moody Blues song, that early one. The rest of their hits make me nauseous. Tuesday Afternoon is like the aural embodiment of what the flu feels like. The Cars I'm very happy for. Too bad Ben Orr passed away, so no full-fledged reunion to hope for on event night.Bon Jovi are terrible and undeserving of even a nomination.Nina, I don't think of her as rock, but cool to see her honored.Dire Straits are obviously great.Sister Rosetta, you just can't fuck with her. Passenger Sid
Good call on Tuesday Afternoon. I've never quite "got" the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. Regardless, glad the Cars got in. Same for Dire Straits. Bon Jovi not so much, but they're the perfect type of band the RRHOF wants to celebrate. OF COURSE Radiohead is deserving.
Sir Stewart
Tuesday Afternoon is one of my favorite songs. Full disclosure: I was once seasick on a boat tossing my cookies to the tune of that song on repeat (well, the whole greatest hits of theirs on repeat).
Analogman
I can see your point now. Bon Jovi is not my cup of tea - but it is interesting that he can continue to sell albums and play stadiums. I have to say I liked him in the Ed Burns film No Looking Back (1998).
