Wow now that's some impressive insider/detective work...buried on someone's page...they finally have corrected it now...

http://wilco.kungfus...-city-lu-wilr11

I haven't gotten the chance to hear it yet (just downloaded it yesterday), but...I'm sure pretty much any performance from this tour will be at least very good/near great, or better...but...sadly no "new" (previously unreleased on other Roadcase Shows) songs this time & an especially short set list too...maybe they just wanted something from the European leg...still, always nice to have, rather than not...

Radio Cure is on it. Sadly Bull Black Nova is missing from the recording. Roadcase 011 / August 14, 2012 / Luxembourg City, LU (WILR11)

They above quote is from the After the Show folder

That's a bit odd - I didn't see any explanation on the Roadcase Store page, either. I imagine they had technical issues - though I guess there is no "complete show" on the release information.

I haven't been checking the set lists on the releases to the actual set list of the shows on the the Roadcase releases - is having a song or two left out the norm or is this show an exception?

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an error in the Luxembourg setlist as originally posted. I just listened to that section of the Roadcase recording and I can't detect any edit between Radio Cure and Black Moon.

Could be that BBN was cut from the setlist, or it could be it was just posted by mistake. Wouldn't be the first time.

I suppose you may be correct. There was an audio recording of this show. See http://viachicago.org/topic/48456-wilco-08142012/

I did not download the show show, so I haven't listened to it. It is on the tapers set list, though tapers do make mistakes from time to time.

Perhaps someone who listened to the audio recording can chime in?

Are you buying every single one of these? How can you afford that?

While I'm actually six figures in debt technically, for my education...I also run a pretty successful little acupuncture practice right now (which is also how I got to see so many Wilco shows this Summer)...at some point, I may have to call on the local fellow faithful to have us divide up the purchasing duties...and/or go online to grab some of these...but I honestly like supporting the band. I put plenty of money into Spiritual pursuits & am glad to have my money go there...there is no artistic pursuit that I'm more glad to support than Wilco.

To be honest, this is the first one that has had some less attraction to me...or little to no reason for me to even vaguely be able to rationalize/justify it...As I noted in a previous post here are no "new" songs- ones that haven't done in another Roadcase show (up to now there had been some songs that were new to the set list) & it's the shortest show yet. So I concede this is getting into that Deadhead type of area, but frankly, at this point, I'm still good with it.

This show crackles with energy. I've got a lot of shows from the TWL tour, but this one jumps right out of the speakers at me. May be the best I've heard.

I'm actually really looking forward to hearing this show, because of the shows I've seen recently this was not one of my favorites. But I've suspected that the reason had to do with my crappy seats and a couple of mildly annoying audience incidents at the show. I'm glad to be reading such positive reviews-- I want to give it a fresh listen.

I wrote to the good folks at Wilco HQ about "Bull Black Nova" being cut from the Roadcase #11 release (hoping that it was just an oversight & they it might be corrected & added to the download), & just got this response via facebook- "Unfortunately, we had to leave that one off for technical reasons. Sorry about that.". & from email "Thanks for writing. Indeed, you are correct, Bull Black Nova isn't on there due to an audio recording malfunction during that song. We hope you enjoy the rest of the set though.".

So I'm guessing something happened during the recording process...so sadly there will be no "Bull Black Nova" added to the download...first time this has happened to the best of my knowledge...

Okay - mystery solved - thanks.

Still think they should have mentioned the omission on the Roadcase release page. No real biggie, though.

Thanks for checking on that. Bummer. I like that song and would like to hear how it sounds this year. Guess I'll have to get the audience recording and check that out.

Hey "Bull Black Nova" is on Roadcase #9 if you really want to hear how it sounded this year...and my answer would be...Killer!!

Just released on Oct. 24, 2012- Roadcase #12 & #13 from consecutive nights, Sept. 21 & 22 at The Greek Theater in Berkley, CA.

http://wilco.kungfus...keley-ca-wilr12

http://wilco.kungfus...keley-ca-wilr13

27 whopping songs each night, and as is the case with consecutive shows they play in the same town- great song variation within the set lists...9 songs repeated each night, 18 fresh & new- making for 45 different songs played over the two nights.

This is pretty much the same sort of thing they did in NYC with Roadcase shows #3, 4 & 5 from 3 consecutive shows in NYC where they played 9 songs that repeated on any given night with 18 fresh ones for that show, giving you 63 songs over that 3 show run.

From this new batch "On and On and On" is a song that hasn't appeared on previous Roadcase releases- all the other songs have.

Hey guys, I'm finally going to make the plunge and pick a couple of these up as we hit the home stretch of 2012.

Based on setlists alone, I'm partial to:

1. Brooklyn Night 2 (7/24/12)

2. New York, NY (7/25/12)

3. Red Rocks (6/23/12)

4. Columbia, MO (9/16/12)

5. Vienna, VA (7/18/12)

From the 8 I haven't listed, any recommendations based on quality of show/energy/etc. The Berkeley shows look strong, but can't decide between the 2. Any opinions and thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

While I'd love to hear all of the shows they've posted, I simply can't justify paying so much for getting a lot of the same songs.

That being said -- I have the Red Rocks show and it's tremendous. I've also listened to the 7/25/12 show in New York quite a bit via the Roadcase stream, and it's also really good. Some great rarities in that one. Can't vouch for any of the others.

I have 3 of the Roadcase shows: 6-23 Redrocks, 7-25 NYC and 7-18 Wolftrap, Vienna. Also have non-Roadcase versions of 9-22 Berkeley and 7-8 Geneva. All good, wouldn't knock any of them, but if you were asking which *1* to buy of the ones I have, I'd say Wolftrap, Vienna stands out above the rest.

Thanks, world. This is exactly the reason for my post; on the surface, the Vienna setlists falls into the "pretty good" category for me, so it's probably one I wouldn't have thought much about without digging a little deeper.

They just come out smoking at that Wolftrap show, those first 3 songs kill, and it doesn't let down. At least to my ears. Plus you get Laminated Cat and Christ for President.

I wish they could dig up some soundboards from past tours.

I would really love some Being There, Summerteeth or Mermaid Avenue shows... (1996-2000)

Really into that era at the moment, specifically 1999-2000. That really seemed like the last tour where Jeff and Jay were getting along and were having fun playing together.
