Wilco (officially released live shows)

Too bad these downloads are not available to Wilco fans outside the USA :heartbroken

They are !

You can buy them from the US store, regardless your location.

I'm in Europe and it worked just fine.

Thank you! For some reason, the checkout web page gave me no option to include Madrid among the USA ( :banana ), the only nation among the options, but this has been corrected. Tryin' again now.

The Red Rocks show is a delight. Love the subtle changes in some of the arrangements, great organ work, tunes from the new record sound great. These downloads can turn into a black hole for my money if they keep this up...

I have not heard yet this show but I noticed the same in the Geneva, IL , 2012-07-08 show, lovely changes in Laminated cat (now a mix of acoustic & electric), Standin O, and some others...Fantastic

I bought both shows yesterday and got an email saying they were processing my order. I've heard nothing since. I assumed it would be an automatic thing. Is this what happened to you guys?

You should have had a link appear on your screen immediately after you clicked "purchase" to begin downloading the zip. I also received the "processing" email but followed the directions on the Kung Fu site and had no problem with access to my purchase.

I've never been a huge fan of 'Radio Cure' but the version from this show gave me goosebumps! Thanks for Wilco for offering these sbd shows. I will keep purchasing these as long as they keep putting them out but will also download from the wilco archive as long as they allow those shows to remain up.

this is why bands like pearl jam and now appreantly wilco are doing official bootleg's because they online trading or mail trading cirulates poor quality recordings.. I'm assuming this for wilco anyway. it's a good move for their fans.. low cost to record and release these show via roadcase and low cost for the fans.

I would disagree with that as well. There are many high quality audience recordings as well as some sbds here and there. It is cool that the band allows fans to record and trade, but I will also support them by buying the live shows from their site as long as they put them out.

And now a delicious new Roadcase flavor- Cooperstown!!! Wilco has done 29 North American Summer tour dates & 6 of this have gotten released as Roadcase downloads. I saw 9 shows total- 8 full shows & a shorter "festival" set show- 4 of the 6 Roadcase releases come from shows I saw (Brooklyn 1, Brooklyn 2, Manhattan & Cooperstown). I'm sure both sound quality & performance figure into the decision of what to release. But I can honestly say the 4 unreleased shows I saw were every bit as great as the others that got released!! Enjoy!

Extra! Extra!! Roadcase Shows #7 & #8 are now available!! They haven't yet dipped into the past files...so we are still getting 2012 shows...for me this especially happily includes what is now the 5th Roadcase show that I saw (all three NYC shows, Cooperstown & Rochester) with the GREAT 8/3/12 Rochester, NY show...it also gives me a chance to check out one of the few east coast gigs I missed on this swing with the tantalizing 7/29/12 Essex Junction, VT gig.

http://wilco.kungfustore.com/categories/491-roadcase

Take note there is a sale of sorts going on at the website now too....sooooooo...

...if you've been thinking about getting something from the store for awhile...including other Roadcase gigs, etc. ...

you get a free mp3 (not the loseless ALAC, or loseless FLAC) of the Rochester show with a $40 order...

and/or...for a $60 order you get the mp3 of Rochester & 10% off the whole order...

Also take note that....the team Wilco "W" baseball hats are now available in a veritable psychedelic rainbow assortment of colors (crimson, blue, red & black with white "W"...green with gold "W"...& black with orange "W")... http://wilco.kungfustore.com/category/42-stickers-etc/product/3768-w-hat-wil600

ladies & gentlemen start your Roadcase downloading, & merch ordering engines, & PLAY BALL!

Has anyone from the band actually said they will be posting older shows? They just say "many more to come!" etc. This might just be a program for releasing current shows, rather than some kind of archive project. I like the idea, but the setlists are too similar to collect them all.

Looking back I don't anyone specifically mentioned doing older shows- I think this is all assumption (by myself included)...but...when you consider that they don't have that many shows left this year...& they are supposedly taking next year (mostly) off from touring to record a new album...then it seems likely that "many more to come" would probably mean that they will be dipping into the past over the time they are recording the new album...and maybe that's not what it means, & I'm wrong, but I think they'll eventually start delving into older shows- I can't imagine why they wouldn't...

We're kinda hitting the point of diminishing returns as far as setlist variations go. Cool if you attended these recent shows, but surely they've got some older shows they could dig up. Or maybe the quality of recording isn't good enough on the older shows?
