  1. Yeah - pictures would be better in book form - esp. since she is a bit of a photographer, too, I am sure she has some nice shots.
  2. I probably will get the McGee's e-book - it is bit funny about the whole e-book debate. I prefer books - but an e-book is not the end of the world. Then again my wife has a tablet, so it's no big deal for me to get the e-book.
  3. I can never get into The Big Bang Theory. Tried a couple of times. Now, it seems to be on every hour on the hour on some station or other.
  4. Got it, I guess. But does Keith have to play on a Stones song in order for it to be a "Rolling Stones'" song? And I agree, nothing off of A Bigger Bang or those couple of songs on Forty Licks are better than Saint of Me. I still hold out hope of something great by these guys, though. Reckless, abandon hope, I know.
  5. Ol' Crow, quit being such a stickler ---- he didn't play on Moonlight Mile either - should that be off anybody's list, too? (now I have a taste from some Old Crow...)
  6. Doesn't look like it - unless something changed overnight. http://chicago.white...ok_cws&c_id=cws
  7. I'll give it a shot. Now (no particularly order): Under My Thumb Respectable Gimme Shelter Sway Moonlight Mile Mother's Little Helper Paint it Black Connection Sympathy for the Devil Street Fighting Man Number 11 would be Just My Imagination.
  8. Bummer you got stuck in the rain. Jules, I was wondering if you had a change of opinion of this year's performance of Dunn? I think the Sox are definitely missing his bat, esp against the Tigers (for the 2nd series).
  9. Because it says so in the title of the thread. I wouldn't mind if the other Tempest threads merged into this one. Speaking of Tempest, heard it twice - so far I enjoy it quite a bit. Musically it sounds great - need to listen to it a few more times to digest the lyrics.
  10. Must admit, this is one the best Wilco threads in a while - need to revisit (or visit) these shows mentioned.
  11. It is cool that they are going to run the show at theaters. I enjoy the somewhat recent trend of showing rock shows in theater. I think the Stones should take credit for the recent trend, too (Ladies and Gentlemen was the 1st rock movie in a long while.)
  12. It's great when Keith and Mick sing harmony together, esp live. They don't share the mic as much as they did in the earlier eras - which is a shame.
  13. I think he may be IRememberDBoon's cousin. Depending on the venue, I may fork out the dough to see the Stones again. (That is if they do a full tour - not just the 4 shows.)
  14. I think technology will surprise you. Plus, if only audience recordings exists, perhaps the feedback may not be as noticeable off the soundboard feed, who knows. If the price is decent enough I probably will get the Blu-ray. I think I have a source on my hard-drive, but I don't think I ever gotten around to listen to it. That's a great one.
  15. Animals is a good one - I think Dylan's Love and Theft and Modern Times sound great on phones. American Beauty is another.
  16. My (small/independent) go-to liquor store and Mexican food restaurant doesn't accept AMEX cards - so that sucks. At most common places, I don't have a problem though.
  17. Another vote for Mr. Keith RIchards. I agree, I think in order to be a truly great rhythm guitarist , he or she needs another guitarist to "weave" with. Of course one guitarist can create that in the studio and Pete is great at that. Oh hell, Pete is a great rhythm guitarist, too. Of course, Weir would be my 2nd favorite.
  18. Why can't they strike during the summer??? Seriously, I am for collective bargaining and striking - but I am having a little hard time with this particular strike. Both sides say they are close - if so, why not continue to teach, while the two sides hash it out? 16% raise over 4 years seems reasonable and I agree that methods of evaluation may be a bit skewed against teachers - but, I do agree with the city, that principals should be able to hire the most qualified teachers. Soon, I will have a kid who will be entering school age - I live a block away from the President's Chicago residence
  19. Well this thread killed two birds with one stone - got the front picture taken care for this year's Christmas card and a holiday movie in the queue ---surprised the squeal isn't in 3D.
  20. After doing a bunch of research my wife (and I) settled on the AMEX Blue, too.
  21. Well maybe Crow is right - yet another greatest hits record with a couple of new songs thrown in - pretty disappointing. Oh well. If the 4 shows do happen, hopefully they are a success and they play well - I wouldn't mind seeing them one more time.
  22. I happen to be listening to 9/2/83 now - another sprite BRB. Don't listen to 83, too often.
