Jeff Tweedy Book Tour 11/13/18 Mrmrr Theater Brooklyn NY
TCP replied to remphish1's topic in After The Show
Damn, they should have asked me to moderate. I'd be asking Jeff about string gauges and the different types of synthesizers on the AGIB drone. Plus every other question would have been "Where's the next Loose Fur album?". Wait was that about the "smoke pot, smoke pot" back up vocals? If so did Jeff confirm? I'm still waiting to know if I should try the weed. -
I know he was 95 but this one hurts. I've loved Spider-Man, X-Men, The Avengers, etc as long as I can remember.

The album version of Let's Go Rain is up on Spotify. Sounds great to hear the full version.

Nice.

There's been rumours going around for awhile, but it's not my place to talk about something that's unconfirmed. However, TMM's website is pretty barebones these days.

Any side to any Sloan album released in the 90s.

Until the tapes are discovered and released as Bootleg Series 28: Even More Blood, Somehow Even More Tracks. Coming Fall 2032!

Yeah it's really good. I've heard the single, Talking Straight on the radio a bunch this summer/fall, glad I gave the whole record a chance recently.

I feel like a new Andrew Bird is due. Maybe Mac Demarco. Big Thief? Ryan Adams should probably have something with the amount of stuff he's been teasing through 2018. I'll also go out on a limb and say Ty Segall will release something. Oh and Wilco!

If you could ask Roger Daltry one question??
TCP replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Oh man yes. This. This is the question to ask. -
It's hard to tell after 3 episodes but I like Jodie a lot. My biggest concern with a new actor is that they feel like The Doctor. I can't describe what makes Tennant and Smith feel like The Doctor more than Eccleston, it's all intangibles. But so far Whittaker feels like The Doctor to me. I was a little nervous going into the Rosa Parks episode but they treated Rosa well. I think it was the best of the bunch so far. The Ghost Monument kind of sucked and it made me a little worried to see an episode that weak so early into the season, especially when there's only 10 episodes.

"What was it like being third fiddle to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones?". -
Love Elliott. I was 16 when he passed, just getting into "alternative music". He hadn't released anything in a few years so the day he died was the first day I heard of him but I remember downloading Either/Or that night. All his albums are great but XO is one of my all time favourites.

Cory Booker: Canada, Trudeau are 'out-Americaning us' during Trump era Yeah, I mean, if that's your definition of "Americaning", I think we've been doing that for decades.

Yeah I saw that yesterday too, from the director of Call Me By Your Name. That sounds like it could be really promising but, then I remind myself, two years ago Amazon was working on a television series based on Bob's songs called Time Out Of Mind... which we haven't heard a single thing about since. Hopefully something like this comes to fruition. I'm Not There is one of my favourite movies, I just want more TV/films like that.

Seconded, great album!

The new Kurt Vile album thanks "The Loft crew: Tweedy, Mark Greenberg, Tom Shick"

Jeff on WTF is great but where is the Nardwuar interview? Can't believe this hasn't happened yet.

Yeah, Mi Sei Apparso Come Un Fantasma is mostly songs that are only on that live album, it feels very Time Fades Away, also because it's some of his strongest material. Also, while on the topic of Jason, an expanded version of The Lioness just got announced for today.

I'm a big Molina fan, in fact he's up there with Jeff as one of my favourite songwriters (Jason also live in Chicago for a long while and befriended Steve Albini, I wonder if JT and JM crossed paths??). I don't hear the similarity between Ring The Bell and Impossible Germany but it's possible I'm missing something obvious. Jason has a great catalog. Didn't It Rain and the selftitled Magnolia Electric Co get a lot of attention but my unsolicited advice is to not overlook The Lioness, The Black Ram, Nashville Moon, Let Me Go Let Me Go Let Me Go, honestly everything is great, but I'm partial to e
