  1. Morrison may have been "charismatic" and a "good showman" but as a lyricist/"genius" he falls quite short of the mark. Which is, I believe, all giraffo said (correct me if I'm wrong here, giraffo). I agree with him. Whether or not The Doors had a great sound is, as it is with any art, subjective. To some the music is dated and juvenile. But this thread is about drugs, right? I'd be willing to wager that more talent has been squandered due to excessive drug use than enhanced. Sure, you get a Ray Charles here and there (who regularly used heroin for a good chunk of his career) but what're t
  2. Sounds like somebody owes musictoday an apology....
  3. Does Noel do any acting outside of the crap for The Sun's p.3? I nominate Judge Reinhold for the part of Tony Margherita. And Paul Giamatti for Leroy Bach. Giamatti would have to get into a little better shape, of course, but it can be done.
  4. Not every show. You can still grab an apple on the way in, though.
  5. I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not, but it's his property, it's his dog.
  6. I always thought it was a drawing and the title got tagged to the boots.
  7. I think Sandra Bullock would be a good Glenn. Adam's apple and all. Luke Perry is a good call for John. Or Crispin Glover.
  8. They usually pass out posters at Fillmore shows when there's a food drive or benefit deal going on.
  9. The kid's 16 and knows next to nothing about anything. I'm not saying he's stupid. Just 16.

  11. If you're concerned about hurting feelings: 1) Invite the ones you want and explain to any others who ask that "your neighbor" put a cap on how many you could invite, "sorry." 2) Don't invite anyone from the office 3) Invite everyone from the office and hope the ones you don't like already know this and won't come anyway. Even if they do come....so what. Get blind drunk and have fun at their expense. Who knows, too- maybe a few drinks'll loosen them up and you'll bond a bit. If you're not concerned about hurting feelings: 1) Invite whomever you want and exclude whomever you don't wan
  12. On another food show the other day they said the key to key lime pie is to use key limes. Not the regular limes (which has become customary outside of Key West, FLA.). the key lime has a tarter taste to it.
  13. Ooooohhhh...."Cally" you're a day short with the online business bullshit. I just got a better offer from Kaplan U. through an unsolicited email yesterday. If it doesn't work out for me, you better believe I'll be in touch. I've got a good feeling you'll be around these parts for a long time.
  14. There are "pits" at Wilco shows now? My advice for GA shows is to hang off to the sides/near the back on the floor. I can't deal with being pushed up against other folks for several hours at a time. Anywhere that the sound is excellent without being pressed against other humans is the spot to be, imo. But clean and loud sound is the key. I don't care if I can look into Jeff's eyes or not.... Then again I'm old and cranky.
  15. I got an email this a.m. saying they shipped with a tracking number. As assumed, I don't think either night is sold out yet and probably won't until the day before/day of.
  16. The Avs at times have busted out "old-school"-type alternate jerseys in the past few years with just the lettering of "Colorado" diagonally accross the sweater. I like the look of those: simple yet bold.
  17. He wouldn't be able to drown or hang the goldfish even if he wanted to, though.
  18. Yeah, it just seems like most folks easily accept the restrictions that are constantly being added to what were once freedoms. I know it's a small thing and takes two minutes, but cripes make the stuff illegal if it's such a problem. If toothpaste was the active ingrediant in meth I'd be ticked about having to fill out forms to buy that, too, though.
  19. It's ridiculous that you need to sign forms to buy OTC Sudafed regardless that it's an active ingrediant in making meth. There should either be a limit on how many you can purchase or if it's such a threat, make it a prescription drug.
  20. Definitely loses appeal. I really enjoyed having the choice tunes hand-picked by Lemieux, downloaded, and put to the iPod for in the car, etc. Who wants to sit at a computer and dig on tunes (for any extended period of time?). I don't see why posting individual or 3-4 songs connected is any different from posting individual songs on any other blog. Can't even download an individual tune (sbd) from a show anymore? It's gotten to this point, which is lame. I'm not buying the DPs/Vault stuff.
  21. Maybe he should have pleaded insanity, then? I wonder if counseling is part of the plea. Either way, I bet he won't be torturing animals when he gets out- which is a key to prison time- a deterrent for future violations.
  22. Peach cobbler love makes baby Fudgie weep.
  23. I have a crush on Fudgie the Whale.
