I have no intention to shield them once they're teenagers. I just hope I've imparted good taste...

Milk. Very good movie. Penn is amazing.

Letterman was a comedic god from the debut of Late Night through about 1998. He's really lost it, but still a million times better than Leno. O'Brien is okay. Not my taste. My late night viewing now belongs to Stewart/Colbert.

I'm not sure how I feel about taking my kids to Wilco. A festival show, maybe. Songs like "Handshake Drugs" and "Via Chicago" would really make me uncomfortable. That, and you drunken a-holes who turn out at every show. They're 4 now, not sure how old I'd want them to be. We have watched Austin City Limits (minus Handshake Drugs) and some other stuff and play their CDs frequently, but no concerts yet.

The Twins are the only visiting team to stink up Yankee Stadium 2.0 as much as they did the old one. I really HATE the Yankees.

He's also a NASCAR fan. How many Indie Rock fans REALLY like NASCAR? Anyone here? Haven't seen any threads. -
do you have a go-to song or riff that you play?

I haven't been here since the album started streaming. Listened to it 3 times. I like it a lot. I don't think it's the best collection of songs, but it's great music. Best harmonies since ST, not as many hooks. Can't wait to buy it!

Haven't forums like this fulfilled the need of music magazines?? I will donate $$ to keep VC alive, but not Paste. I liked it 4-5 years ago, but lost interest.

Listened to the new Rhino release today. May 28, 77 if I'm not mistaken. Hartford CT. They call it To Terrapin. Very nice.

That's a kickass picture too!

This is what (Minnesota Viking) Jared Allen has chosen to do with his head.

Still not totally sold on this album. But here's an NPR story for those of you who are.

If you agree, then ignore this link: Previews of every track off his new CD from Dallas Public Radio

My thoughts exactly! I hated them a little less when I learned that Bill Lambier was a sleestack, though.

There's something so damned ominous about that song.

GREAT rhythm guitarist!

We were watching the Muppet Movie with the kids about a month ago. The wife and I were playing alive or dead and we were both stumped. Now we know... Not to make light, he made me laugh a lot when I was a kid.

Do you have source for good chorizo in Des Moines? We've never gotten anything great. We bring it home from the Quad Cities.

That's a great list! I wouldn't thought to have included Quine since he's really sideman, but his work with Reed is great and Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend" is exactly what good guitar-oriented pop-rock should. Quine's work is melodic, yet still so blistering. And RT, geez, he's ahead of Hendrix in my list. A few others... Bob Mould from Zen Arcade through his work with Sugar, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Willie Nelson

My sense of things is that Tony M. is a pretty meticulous and effective manager. I'd be somewhat -- though not completely -- surprised if this suit doesn't go very far. Whatever the case, I hope justice prevails for both. It is sad, but a fact of life. Wilco is a business.
