  1. Another good performance from the late Sidney Pollack. A good movie. Liked the ending.
  2. My Pandora station is currently playing the title track off this: mmmm....
  3. Baby monitor w/ low batteries or w/ interference from tv, radio, computer.
  4. I agree with everything in your whole post, but esp. this first paragraph. You took the words right out of my mouth!
  5. He was good in serious roles like "Eyes Wide Shut" (one of the few things I liked in that movie, rare for Kubrick) and in comedic roles as well. His acting in "Tootsie" is as good as his direction. He really got a lot out of Bill Murray in a small role too.
  6. Track 1 on Bryter Layter has some excellent guitar work by Richard Thompson.
  7. I am a causal Dead fan at best and have recently gone broadband. I would be interested in favorite torrents currently available on easy tree or dime. Maybe people's top 2 or 3 in terms of both recording quality and performance.
  8. Just came home from Iron Man. 1st movie in a theater in about 2 years. It was GREAT! Robert Downey was great as was Jeff Bridges. It was a bit hard for me to erase my image of Bridges as Lebowski to imagine him as an evil weapons dealer, but it worked. Can't wait for a sequel. Glad to see Jon Favreau make such a great BIG movie.
  9. Hillary Cites RFK assassination in explaining why she's still in race She's a classy one!
  10. Or seen them singing Madonna numbers at her R&R Hall of Fame induction.
  11. I'm thinking about the Omaha show. I'd be home by like 1:30 or 2:00. I might be too old to handle that.
  12. OK, I deleted the other one since voting was going on here. I was slow to find the delete topic option.
  13. Iggy Pop, born 4/21/47 Keith Richards, born 12/18/43 I'm beginning to think the chemicals they have ingested are acting as preservatives.
  14. Any good? Petty was so horrible at the Super Bowl! Then again, it is the Super Bowl.
  15. Wishing well runs wet and dry I wish for things I never had Surrounds and wells up in my eyes The screaming voice, it lies Wishing well gets someone's attention Every wish you ever had In a day of nights, in the darkest of light Sits and cries, watch the lies Could you give me a wish if I tell you what I want? Will the price be no object? I wish for dreams of light I live for wishing well surprise Deepest light, the secret lies Wishing well gives you all that you desire Homes and trains, and the greenest of plains That you ever happened upon The silent wish, it calls you out Calls you
  16. I reminded about once every other month that I'm about the only person born in the 70s who hasn't seen The Goonies.
  17. Point taken, now I feel dumber than Alanis Morrisette.
  18. I thought the rest of the article was better than the last 4 paragraphs. He makes the case that effective diplomacy -- which admittedly, the Bush admin has not been interested in -- requires a lot of hard work in advance. You can't just fly to Tehran or have the president of Iran (I'm too lazy to look up the exact spelling) fly to Washington and meet. Maybe the reason the Bush admin. has turned their back on dimplomacy is exactly because it's hard work.
  19. Ironic, his dad played Reagan in the CBS miniseries a few years back.
  20. Richard Dreyfuss to Play Dick Cheney in Stone's "W" I always thought that his portrayal of the evil Republican in "American President" was based on Cheney. And that was made years before he really became Darth Vader.
  21. Based on the recording I have, I figured it was at the Fillmore. "Color me Impressed" is immediately followed up by "I Wanna be Sedated". There were two setlists that show them being played consecutively and they were 5/9 and 5/10 of '97. Of course, he could've said it more than once. It was true up until ST.
  22. If something like that is going to happen, it's fitting that it was in a Wal Mart parking lot.
  23. Ha. Just an hour or so before I read this, I added a signature to my VC profile that's a Tweedy quote about the 'mats.
