Having recently listened to the Slow Burn podcast about Watergate has given me a bit of historical context around that and some new lenses to view our current situation. My previous view of Watergate is that Republicans like Howard Baker were unbiased and would let the truth lead them where it would throughout most of the Watergate crisis. School was canceled today due to an ice storm. I took my kids and a couple of friends to see Black Panther and it exceeded my very high expectations. I also finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. A good day, I'd say.

We (my wife, sixth graders and me) marched last year. We sat it out yesterday, but we will be very motivated come fall to work and vote for Democratic candidates at every level. I say this as someone who, up until Trump won the nomination, was a registered Republican. I have watched the GOP in Iowa and in the nation push the most radical agenda of my lifetime. I have some conservative tendencies, but this current incarnation of the GOP is beyond the pale.
