I almost bought this record on the strenght of the title track. But now I am not so sure... I own zero JL or Rilo records. Where should I start?? Any recommendations?

Oh, I hope your kidding. Gibson can be so aggravating. The need to go back and focus on the basics; what made them popular. We don't need 12 different "J-45" models or 34 different "Les Pauls". My god. Focus, people, focus.

I just noticed that Jeff doesn't finger the D chord (E, really, w/capo) the same way in the tab above (the first part of the main riff) in the youtube video. Anyone know what he is doing?

I was listening to the June 21, 2003 show recently and right before they go into "Red Eyed & Blue", Jeff says "This is my mid-life crisis guitar". Does anyone know what guitar he is referring to? It got me thinking what I would envision as a mid-life crisis guitar. What is the guitar equivalent of the proverbal red sports car? Something gaudy and show-y, no? Like a Flying V or somthing silly like that, no? So, to recap: 1. Does anyone know what guitar Jeff is referring to? 2. What is your idealized mid life crisis guitar?

I have really been digging this song lately. IMHO it might be the quintessential Wilco song (especially the 'Noise' KT version). A quick search did not prodcue a complete tab/chord/lyric of this tune, so I thought I'd put it all together. I have called it Capo III, but I think it sounds fine at II or IV, as well (my ears kinda prefer II, but JT seems to use III; hence that is what I'll show here). In a nut shell, yes. I pull the whole index off when doing this manueuer on F (or and barre chord. The Bm pulloff in the intro Neil Young's "Out On the Weekend" has a similar trick). I tend to travis pick this one (I tend to travis pick by default - but thats a personal crutch to bear). But listen to the song and find your own voice. Make it your own.
