  1. A miniature version of something I created in MS Paint awhile ago. It started out as a simple stick figure with one abnormally long leg, and grew from there.
  2. I mentioned this in another recent thread, but ... I used my actual name (Brianne) on here for years before finally changing my display name a couple of weeks ago. The story is pretty simple. Quite a few friends call me "B" for short. A few years ago we were picking up a rental car that was located in the Preferred B lot. I decided that was my rap name. Aaaand now it's my VC handle, too.
  3. Ah, back in the day. When even a thread like that only ran 5 pages.
  4. I drive a 2002 Toyota Echo, and like it very much. I drive a lot - recently went over the 100,000 mile mark. And it's survived six Wisconsin winters unscathed, five with no garage. I haven't even replaced the battery yet. The only things I've had to do aside from scheduled maintenance in the past six years were replacing the brake pads (last year) and replacing all four tires (a couple of months ago.) It gets very good gas mileage, and I love that it's small enough to make city parking much less of a hassle than it could otherwise be. Despite its small footprint, it really feels roomy in
  5. Oh, between songs you can just hear that they're playing in an awesome little room. I hope they never completely stop playing places like Tip's.
  6. I really like the inclusion of links to officially purchase (or download for free) the songs/CDs, even if they're not working at the moment. Great job!
  7. Hee hee! You guys have my favorite compound, though. There was a mini-compound going on the street where I grew up. One family owned one of the first houses built in the neighborhood back in the early 1920s, and two of their children grew up to buy houses on the same block. One lived next door to us. I think they're all gone now, though.
  8. I would dearly love to see Wilco at the Ryman someday. I've never been to Nashville, and it's on my list of places to go. Sounds like an amazing show, and I'm glad we have hopes of seeing footage at some point.
  9. John is intrigued by your suggestions. (From the Des Moines Register; an interview with John in Cleveland right after the residency): Q: What direction would you like to see the band
  10. Aww. I saw it once at a theater during its three-day run or whatever in town. A friend actually invited me to go; I don't think I knew it was playing. At that point I think I'd seen Wilco in concert once, but that was it. Come to think of it, the movie was screening in the same theater where I'd seen Wilco. It was a very fun theater experience - the audience was very into it. I preordered the DVD from Plexifilm - I remember there was some sort of delay in it coming out? And then I remember a bunch of people's copies didn't play right, including mine. Good times. They replaced them

    SNL!

No spoilers in here! If you want to, I recommend starting another thread with a big SPOILER tag in the subject.
  12. Ngaaaah, I'm dying to hear that one live! Glad it was so awesome.
  13. I hadn't seen those; they're great! But they could've asked Kande.
  14. That is amazing. Now I want John to buy this bass: My favorite part is the lion's paw headstock.

Melanie Hutsell. I remember her doing a pretty good sorority girl in the Delta Delta Delta skits.
  16. This sounds hilariously dorky.
  17. Tada! http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?act...mp;CODE=leaders
  18. I can guarantee you nobody is threatening to ban anyone for criticizing Wilco. Go back and read the posts from the other moderators. Nope, it's crap like this that gets really tiring really quickly. Give it a rest, people.
  19. I'm not familiar with this, and am hoping it has something to do with Bronson Pinchot. I love Alan Cumming. I'm impressed, Maudie! I'm sure a lot of your friends could come up with some random accolades we've won, so you could add to your list.
  20. Does anybody remember from previous NPR webcasts whether the stream is Mac-friendly?
  21. Flu shot, all five shows, very little sleep, out in line for a minimum of an hour every day. Not sick! (I feel a little like I'm jinxing myself, though.)
