  1. Yes! The same newspaper article that mentioned the Colin show also mentioned this one. I didn't know Okkervil River was supporting, though! It'll be quite the week for shows for me! Well, the month should be pretty good as a whole.
  2. I assume there's one, anyway, though I don't have much info - he'll be in Milwaukee on April 22nd and in Madison on April 23rd. Yay! Edit: adding dates as intel comes in... thanks, Wendy! 4/7 - Austin, TX - La Zona Rosa 4/8 - Dallas, TX - Granada Theater 4/10 - Atlanta, GA - Variety Playhouse 4/11 - Asheville, NC - Orange Peel 4/12 - Charlottesville, VA - The Satellite Ballroom 4/13 - Washington, DC - 9:30 Club 4/15 - Somerville, MA - Somerville Theatre 4/16 - Brooklyn, NY - Music Hall Of Williamsburg 4/17 - Brooklyn, NY - Music Hall Of Williamsburg 4/18 - Buffalo, NY - The Tralf ***
  3. Yes! My dad used to go there for work a lot when I was a kid, and when we'd accompany him (usually en route to Baltimore or NYC) we used to eat at Tony Da Caneca at least once per visit. I miss that place.
  4. Ah, birthdays! Ah, life! Have a wonderful day, K!
  5. He did, but it looks like they're not showing anything from the Friday night of the festival (10/5).
  6. Awesome! And I'll get to see some of the stuff I missed, too.
  7. Vibes for those little guys, Kevin, and you two as well. I'm glad Logan's getting the care he needs right now. They'll be back in action and causing havoc together in no time.
  8. Damn it! Am I missing Masterpiece adaptations of Jane Austens? I'm currently reading Sense & Sensibility for the first time (only my second Austen ever) and I loved the recent Masterpiece version of Jane Eyre ... which I missed the second part of and then had to wait about a month to track down on Netflix/at the library. Am I destined to forever just be a little too slow for these?
  9. It seemed like Jeff originally thought he'd told the story at the school benefit last year, which is why he mentioned it in passing and then had to explain further when most people were confused. Either that or the "slipup" was a nice roundabout segue to telling the story last night. A really fun show; I was glad I could make it, even if I did cut it a bit close. I had no idea there was $8 public weekend parking these days in the garage attached to the condos across the street. The parking lot that existed there before the condos charged about $25 on show nights, if I recall correctly.
  10. Information from earlier in this thread:
  11. In Madison? Cool! I wonder where they were recording.
  12. I am very excited. I hope nobody dies of cold.
  13. It was played at the Golden Smog show in Chicago in fall of 2006 - can't vouch for any other performances. Sounds like all involved had a great time at your LR show.
  14. Beautiful, all. And thanks, Kate and Robin, for sharing your photos. Natalie is very much in my thoughts today, as she has been all week.
  15. Have a smashing birthday, Daniel. Ames is celebrating (though it's hard to tell unless you look at this full-sized):
  16. Closest to: John Edwards You are 13% economic right You are 1% more progressive You have a substantive agreement of 80% Furthest from: Fred Thompson You are 43% economic left You are 69% more progressive You have a substantive agreement of 41% I'm nearly as close to both Obama and Hillary as I am to Edwards, though. Interestingly, I'm 13% more traditional than Obama. He's the only candidate more progressive than me, it seems.
  17. She loved Paul Bettany and David Thewlis. And I'll so miss geeking out about various TV shows and books with her. I don't have a picture of my tinfoil devil handy, but I recently found him again and he's been living in a vase above my fireplace.
  18. I am just shocked right now. I knew Natalie had been feeling under the weather recently, but of course who ever would imagine this. I have one of her sculptures and even played pub trivia with her when we met in Portland. My thoughts and prayers go out to her loved ones. She is missed.
  19. Others more qualified will chime in, I'm sure, but I was there and had a very good time despite some of the very, very drunk people near us in the audience. John and Pat played with Jon on a few songs (as well as doing a few Autumn Defense numbers to open), and Britt Daniel also showed up early to play a few before he had to leave and play his own show. My favorite part of the night was probably Jon's take on Springsteen.
  20. Thanks for the info, Kyle. It's odd for me to imagine that song with lyrics now, but I'll go check it out.
