Well, I guess no one was shot or killed, so it doesn't rate for the 40-odd headlines on the Metro page? http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/index.html -

After all the times I've heard it...this line still throws me. "..But still I'd be lying if I said it wasn't easy.." Maybe I'm not that bright. But leave it to Tweedy to throw a conditional clause in the middle of a double negative! argh -

All this navel gazing crap with Florida and Michigan leads to a question. What is really the value of the long and elaborate dance known as the presidential primary season?, asks the simpleton Canadian. A lot of spending, fund raising, handshaking, back room meetings with delegates, and "politicking". If a party leader candidate has a national vision, I would rather not see it "shaped" (or ero

A surround mix would mean a release on one of the high-rez digital formats, not redbook CD. (or vinyl)

Well said, I feel the same. Part of it is the age, I wasn't born in '63, much less been "the right age". Yes, Freewheelin' blew my mind the first time I listened to it (somewhat later in life), but it didn't change my life. When I got into Wilco, my feeling was very much "this is MY music".

Interesting, it's listed here at $24.98, while the original Sundazed pressing is now $50! (I think I got mine for $35)

True dat.

Also no R.E.M.

Some interesting choices, but leaving Radiohead and Pearl Jam off seems pretty dumb. Another list for the round basket.

My favorites are- "I'm Not There" by Sonic Youth. They nail this one cold. "Goin' To Acapulco" by Jim James and Calexico. I would call this taking a pretty average song and turning it into something fun and interesting. Not a classic, but nice. Also one of my favorite scenes in the film. "Pressing On" by John Doe. Terrific stuff. Not enough to convert me to Jesus, but pretty goddamn close. "Simple Twist of Fate" by Jeff Tweedy. It's JT, how can you go wrong. And they were smart not to let anyone else do this one. "Se
