  1. just the tonnage of fuel doesn't mean anything...reactor design, composition, reaction to the event, etc...all that i've read says that Fukujima is not nearly as catastrophic as Chernobyl was. maybe it's just propaganda, and we'll find out as the years go by.
  2. i wonder if they'll preview some material @ Solid Sound.
  3. i will say that just by looking at this small slice, it's amazing how horrible the #1 songs have become over the last ~20 years.
  4. this is a cool cover, and the first time i'd heard of the Groundhogs...excellent guest guitar work by none other than Nick Saloman (aka the Bevis Frond).
  5. no mention of a true icon yet (at least in text):
  6. that is a fantastic cover. also nice to see another Delgados fan. loved that band.
  7. heard "Secret of the Sea" while at a post-ski restaurant in Farmington, Maine yesterday.
  8. i would think that some of it has to do w/ the pretty small theaters he's playing...hell, last electric show i saw in an arena had GA tickets for about $75. that's still a lot, but i certainly didn't feel cheated after the show. another part might be trying to beat the scalpers...had he priced floor seats at $100, i bet you'd find a lot of them at stubhub...as it is, what's the markup for a $250 ticket gonna be? probably not many people willing to pay more than that.
  9. wow, you pulled that today? damn. i think all the floor seats are $250 face, right?
  10. i tried today, and got seats in row Z...what seats did you get?
  11. that's what i am guessing, so i don't feel all that bad now.
  12. i often thought that Peter Jefferies solo work echoed _Fear_ quite a bit.
  13. i didn't take that many, as the light (fluorescent store lighting) was pretty bad, but i'll work on some tonight. i am kicking myself that i didn't get a shot w/ Kurt and the life-sized cardboard Bieber cut-out.
  14. damn, didn't realize tickets already went on sale for Neil.
  15. think about the amazing debut LPs that Cale produced (P Smith, Stooges, Modern Lovers).
  16. Damn, Todd...that's mighty high praise. but, i will let you know that i'm just a bottom feeder (see quote most of the way down... )
  17. Glenn Jones uses a partial capo on some songs, sometimes leaving the top two strings unaffected. i saw Kurt Vile play acoustic last week and he definitely used open tuning, and to a very good degree.
  18. Motorhead + Clutch last week This would be my second time seeing the band, and I thought the 1st time was a bit better, but still one can't argue the greatness of Motörhead, can they? Though, i could go for a bit different set list...seemed like a lot of the same stuff they played last tour. and Clutch was definitely a half-trick pony...i swear every guitar solo was the exact same thing. here's a teaser, and more shots of the band can be seen here: http://www.prefixmag.com/photos/motorhead-clutch-house-of-blues-boston-pics/
  19. pretty much the same as before reading this thread.
