  1. Me, too. I really love these "post-Jay, pre-Nels" recordings. I especially like they way they played "She's A Jar" back then.
  2. A bit of a concert drought right now... Drive-By Truckers - March 22nd John K Samson - March 31st
  3. "I'm wearing a 3-piece suit." "Are you watching your figure?" "Yeah, it's like a girdle."
  4. "How To Fight Loneliness" in a windowless govt office waiting to renew my drivers license a couple of weeks ago. Also sweet justice.
  5. Super high-energy crowd and show! With the exception of OSM, none of the "quieter" songs from TWL were played. Acoustic Spiders sounded fantastic. Encore rocked hard! Thanks for the setlist, bbop!
  6. The band posted a DL of a recent show in Alexandria here: http://thedeepdarkwoods.com/wp/
  7. Our first dog was a whippet/lab cross. She was a great running partner and lived to be 15. We recently adopted a 2.5 year old beagle cross from Beagle Paws Rescue.
  8. This afternoon the host of CBC Radio 2 Drive wished Nels a Happy Birthday and then played "You Are My Face"
  9. Well I guess there's some direction maybe
  10. Your co-workers are morons. Perhaps none of them has anything in their lives that they are half as passionate about. You know, the old "put-someone-down-so-I-can-feel-better-about-myself" thing. Pathetic if this is the case. I'm sorry this happened. I'm not sure why your co-worker felt he/she needed to tell you this. This is simply hurtful and insensitive. Fortunately, I had a friend at my office (where I no longer work) who is also a huge Wilco fan. He also has a graduate degree in music so he's a great guy to talk to. Interestingly, our many conversations didn't stop several of our co
  11. The National. Saw them last night, as well. Kind of forgot about how great these guys are live.
  12. "Whole Love" on CBC Radio 2 Morning, yesterday and today.
  13. Thanks for pointing out that version. It really is quite lovely, as is the show's next track, "Far, Far Away".
  14. Still no kungfunation love in Vancouver. Kinda disappointing.
  15. I've been listening to the stream all morning. We've applied to adopt a dog. Just have to "pass" the rescue organization's interview and house inspection. I've never enjoyed scrubbing my kitchen floor so much, thanks to NPR and Wilco!
  16. I flip-flop between "One Sunday Morning" and "Whole Love"
  17. I think I understand why you would feel this way. But in Toronto Saturday night, the room was quiet and the crowd respectful. I don't think I heard any whoooo'ing or hollering. This probably sounds a bit over the top but it really was quite a mesmerizing performance. Beautiful and stunning.
  18. Wow, that's one killer encore! (I agree with Kalle, nice that they're subbing in songs like "I'm Always In Love" for "Walken"). Sounds like it was a great show. Plus some A.M. love!
