  1. Hey, Broken Foot! I believe we met at the Cooperstown show at the Ommegang Brewery in 2012, and then again at SS3. I was there with my twin daughters - we were behind you at Ommegang, releasing balloons with you, if I remember correctly. I recognized your wife and daughter in the picture. Is it Greg (or Craig?) from New Jersey?
  2. Just one opinion on Wilco playing New Madrid again - my hunch is that it stems from Jeff playing it often (nearly every show?) this summer during his solo sets in the Tweedy shows.
  3. I think they sold out the one day tickets for Saturday at SS3. Or maybe I just came to believe that because it was the only day that I found to be crowded out of SS2 and SS3. Raising the price to $124 makes great sense - still a bargain, with probably 2 Wilco shows, the side projects, several other bands that people will be interested in, reasonably-priced food, and entry into the museum for 3 days. The museum is the secret bonus, especially for kids. I remember walking out of one installation at SS2 that featured what appeared to be large poops, and one of my daughters said, "Dad, anythin
  4. I think I am there, too, after listening to discs 1 and 2 today. Just added this to my Christmas/birthday list. Given my family's anti-Wilco stance (they are pro-Taylor Swift), I'll likely be buying it for myself.
  5. I just got on here to post this, but another New Englander beat me to it. You are right - this writer gets it.
  6. This made me laugh. This did not.
  7. Once upon a time, I would not have been able to write these two sentences about the same concert. Love to see She's A Jar and Pot Kettle Black on the set list.
  8. There is definitely something to be said for teams like the Royals who make it to the WS after a long hiatus. Maybe there is hope for the Mariners, Nationals, Brewers, Cubs, etc. Imagine how crazy people will get when the Cubs get back to the WS. OK, if they get back....
  9. ...and likely spent a lot of time on the toilet the next day....
  10. I like that The Jayhawks are playing a few Golden Smog songs in their sets. With Kraig Johnson back in the band, those songs fit well in their show. Looks like they have been playing "Looking Forward to Seeing You", "Jennifer Save Me" and "Until You Came Along" most recently. I am a fan of all of their lineups/sounds/eras. There is something about their sound when Kraig was with them in the late 90s that I liked - they got a harder edge with the extra electric guitar that I found appealing.
  11. Not going to quibble much with that list. How To Fight Loneliness is a surprise, in a good way. I'm not a fan of Walken, so I'd rather see that replaced with You Are My Face. Other than that, I'm good with it. Looks like it will be a good introduction to the band.
  12. And she and the band were in the 15th row or so for "An Evening with Wilco" show in Concord, NH a few years back. Looking like they just stepped off the set of "Almost Famous".
  13. That sounds about right. Add in SRV, and maybe, maybe, The Smiths, and that's about all I'd support in that list. When I think of the HOF in a sport, I think of the very, very best in their sport at their time. Dwight Evans and Alan Trammell - not the very, very best of their time. There were a number of better players when they played - that is why they are not in. Really, really good players, but not Hall of Famers. I know sports are different; they have stats, playoffs, etc. to help judge a player. That said, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band? That's Dwight Evans right there. War? There is
  14. The Royals are pretty darn impressive. I think I have found my team to root for in these playoffs.
  15. Thanks for the heads up! I missed about 1/2 of it, so I am looking forward to seeing the whole show.
  16. Brilliant version of California Stars! Love the guitar solo; just one opinion, but I like it better than Nels' solos on this song. Jeff introduced Scott during the band introductions and said his new last name is Tweedy because he helped on the record.
