  1. Got some clarification from a response to my post on the Wilco FB page. Turns out the film hasn't had its world premier yet. It's showing at the Big Sky documentary film festival. I thought that already happened, which is why I thought we should be seeing the film now, but that's not until February 2016. So of course the movie's not being shown until after it has its world premier. Now it makes sense. Here's the guy's post: "I know a lot of people are wondering what happened to this, but it hasn't even had its world premier yet, so essentially NOTHING has happened to it yet. The world
  2. I don't know how it could be bad, but I do believe they cannot find a distributor. The new Bob Weir movie couldn't find a distributor, until Netflix recently agreed to pick it up and start airing it later this month. I would be very happy to see the Wilco movie on Netflix. 3. Anyone have any information on this documentary? Are we ever going to be able to see it? I can't find anything about it. Seems to have completely fallen off the radar.
  4. 50 years after it all started, and 20 years after Jerry's death, I'm glad that the music and the friendships we all had on tour, are still of vital importance to so many folks. http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-return-of-the-deadheads-1430933536
  5. "epic" being as good a word as any to describe that night inside the Orpheum. Was the night where Tweedy announced the first Solid Sound.
  6. Yup, I should have had Dirty Business on my list.
  7. Yes yes yes. I've said it here before, I was there, sitting 13th row dead center, and it was among the single greatest sets of music I ever witnessed live. That Road Trip series did this a total disservice by breaking this set up. Should have been released in its entirety.

  9. I give Wake Up to Find Out a very strong recommendation. That Branford second set is magical, about as good a representation of the Dead as you'll find. I find the 87-90 period to be another peak GD period. I thought the band was hitting on all cylinders. Set 2 of MSG 1987-09-18 is another treasured set, a "must-have" in my book. Let me know if you want me to hook you up with that one. Fall of '90-91 had Bruce to offset the cheesiness of Vince's toy sound, and I saw a lot of tremendous shows during the Bruce era. But I agree, nothing tops '72-74 and then '77 in my book. Got to see a
  10. Anyone go to the Movie last night? I wanted to but couldn't make it.
  11. Individual band members have done special exhibitions in the museum: Nels did a guitar stomp box effects installation and demo, Pat did a drum/percussion installation and demo. Tweedy did the dunk tank and falconry. Very approachable and up close interactions. I've seen Pat walking around the gift shop in the lobby. I've never stopped any of them for a photo or autograph.

  14. In the running for one of my favorite albums of all time. A few years ago Whitlock was posting a bunch of long writings about his career and experiences with Clapton and the Dominoes. Fascinating reads. I think he put out a book a few years ago, I never got it but was wondering if it included what he was posting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
