He sure made a fast recovery from all of those nagging injuries he had earleir in the season. Curt Schilling's take on Manny is interesting. As always with Schilling, consider the source ...

I have found Blue Man Group's tribute Exhibit 13 to be oddly moving.

Yeah, I finally turned it off and went to bed in the 11th. As much as I like Mike Timlin, I don't think he's got anything left.

Well at least in one verse, the next line is "Not Like You ..."

Tell me about Soul Asylum liveOil Can Boyd replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Someone Else's Song The first time I saw them (circa 1987) they said "we're probably not the best band you have ever seen but we are probably the loudest." They may have been right. The last time I saw them (circa 1991) was right before Grave Dancer's Union came out. I thought that they had seen better days and I remember telling my friend that it wouldn't surprise me if they broke up soon. Shows what I know ...

Sorry - having a little trouble with the pronouns. Who blew who (whom?) out of the water?

It's obviously available all over the place but the second set is part of the downloads for sale through dead.net. It's Volume 7. And it was a Thursday ...

Boy do I love this album ...

Via Chicago's Top 100 Albums of All Time: Summer 2008 editionOil Can Boyd replied to gogo's topic in Someone Else's Song That's what happened with me. Didn't do much for me after a few listens. One day I found myself humming something from it (King of Carrot Flowers, maybe) so I put it on and loved it.

Exactly. I think one of the issues that is often overlooked is that with a hybrid there are no emissions at low speeds or when you are idling. I have had a Honda Civic hybrid for four years and love it (although I changed jobs about two years ago and now mostly take public transportation to work).

Just watched this and thought it was excellent.

And two more shows: Northampton MA October 10 Boston October 11 (tickets are on sale)

Kimcatch: I just finished this book (Last Days of Old Beijing) and really liked it. It has a lot of pretty interesting information about the history of Beijing, including what is going on there now with the destruction of much of the older neighborhoods.

I just finished the one on the Pixies and thought it was pretty good. I also liked Bill Janovitz's book on Exile on Main Street. However, I really didn't like the one on REM's Murmur.

	Feel better Captain Carl.

It took me about halfway through the thread to realize that people were not talking about Belinda Carlisle.
