  1. That quote was from 1974 based on a show at the Harvard Square Theater in Cambridge. http://web.archive.org/web/20030202021626/http://home.theboots.net/theboots/articles/future.html
  2. One of my musical regrets is that I ignored my cousin when he urged me to go see that show at TTs.

  4. Weird - it initially showed up then was gone. In any case, 20 Feet From Stardom is what I watched ...
  5. Finally saw this and thought it was great.
  6. I was there on 12/30 when they did Hard to Handle and Tell Mama.
  7. I sent you a PM but haven't heard back. Get me your address in whatever way works and I'll send it out to you.
  8. More Tanya Donelly/Throwing Muses, this time in NYC.
  9. I keep a lot of books but I also donate some to my local library (and they sell them to make money for the library). I figured this one could find a good home here.
  10. Yes indeed. And Buffalo Tom's Bill Janovitz will be sitting in on a couple of songs with Tanya too.
  11. Throwing Muses (with Tanya Donelly opening)
  12. I'm happy to send you this copy of you want it.
  13. Someone gave me a copy of this and while I'm not the biggest ABB fan I read it over the past few days. It was pretty good. I'd say my interest in the book tracked my interest in the band: I found the early stuff with Duane pretty fascinating and then it became less interesting to me. The drugs and the infighting and the crappy albums and the personnel changes ... Anyone want a copy? I won't read it again and I'm happy to send it to the first person to drop me a note.
  14. I've had Naomi on repeat these last few days.
  15. Rick Perry and Chaz Bono were also born on this date.
  16. Lou Barlow has a nice essay about it: http://thetalkhouse.com/reviews/view/Lou-Barlow-Beck

  18. This may not be the most original statement, but I think the Devil's fiddle solo was better than Johnny's.
  19. Sounds like Koz. The first time I saw him he told the crowd that we were being too quiet and asked if anyone had any questions. When someone asked him about his guitar he mocked the guy's question, made fun of his (thinning) hair, and then basically said that they guy wouldn't be much competition for picking up women after the show. Needless to say, nobody asked any more questions. But I sure do like his music ...
  20. I think I've seen him solo four times and the insult-the-audience shtick has been part of each show. I'm sure he's pissed off that his fans are "guys in tennis shoes" but he's got to deal with that in a better way than insulting the people who are paying good money to see him perform.
  21. How was it? I've only seen Kozelek solo.
  22. I saw it when it came out mainly because of the soundtrack (which could easily have been one of the many mixed tapes I made at the time). I don't remember it that well but I'm pretty sure that it included Fred Schneider and JFK Jr. in addition to Doe.
