  2. That seems worth it to see Wilco in a theater. Way cheaper than my Chicago Theatre tickets...
  3. Happy 21st Birthday to Spencer. He has an EP out today. https://spencertweedy.bandcamp.com/album/geezer-love The title track sounds good to my ears.
  4. I used to listen to that Vegas show. The amount of covers is kinda out of control, but it is a great great show for big fans.
  5. I wonder if they continue to sell at a higher price or they temporarily halt sales? I've seen fests go both ways. I'm interested to see what the next price point is... Edit: Wilco just tweeted the answer here: up by $25 after tonight. I noticed Pitchfork early birds are $165. These early bird tickets are a pretty good deal.

  7. I wish they'd go with somebody besides Lagunitas too. Their Heineken ownership turns me off. John is the Wilco beer snob, right? Lagunitas has had Lucius do stuff with them too. Lucius shares management with Wilco. https://lagunitas.com/artists/lucius
  8. Looks like Lagunitas will be supplying beer at the fest: LAGUNITAS ‏@lagunitasbeer 18h18 hours agoLAGUNITAS Retweeted Solid Sound Festival Can't wait to share a beer in June @SolidSoundFest! #SolidSound2017 More than their Wilco Tango Foxtrot? We'll see...
  9. Ha. I didn't know about Big Star before the 70's show...so there you go.
  10. He says as much in the Rollingstone article: ""The 40th anniversary kind of got in the way of that," he says. "I looked at the tour they booked and it was all big places. The Wildflowers tour will have to be in smaller places because it's just a lot of quiet and a lot of it is acoustic. It would be wrong to focus on one album for that tour." http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/tom-petty-40th-anniversary-tour-might-be-last-big-one-w454754

  12. I saw Joe Walsch open for Seger a few years ago. He makes a great opening act. Should be a good tour. As with the last few, Petty is saying that this may one of his last big jaunts.

  15. Dang. Wish I would have known that smart trick!
  16. Wilco will be playing Pori, Finland on July 13. Announced today. Bill Frisell Trio is another performer. Believe Wilco has some connections to them through Nels? I love the artist bio they have up on their site too. This is a keeper: American band Wilco lead by singer-guitarist Jeff Tweedy will perform in Finland after several years as they play at Pori Jazz as a part of their European tour. For over two decades Wilco has been one of the most important and respected bands of alternative rock. Hailing from Chicago, the band began its career with alternative country but has since progresse
  17. SS tickets haven't sold out more than a week in advance in the past. Saturday is usually the day that ends up selling out. Plenty of time to buy tickets, but I bet they raise the price around New Years if not sooner.
  18. I totally agree. Requiring those fields is obnoxious. Clearly they aren't smart (hence the math thing) and are going to use this to figure out how much to charge us for things in the future.
  19. Ok, you all didn't like my 4,000 number. Is 2,000 the right number?
  20. He hasn't walked back enough. It's really just the Lock Her Up that he's backed out of, right? He hasn't backed off climate change being not an issue or immigration.
  21. I used to have Green Day's version on a workout mix. Perfect for that purpose anyway...
  22. Bands that can draw more than 4,000 people on their own would be my guess as to the cut line.
