  1. Good question. B-side compilation seems unlikely since Alpha Mike Foxtrot compiled 20 years worth of b-sides only 24 months ago. We've heard there is a lot of Tweedy material ready so that seems possible. We've been hearing about a new Loose Fur for a long time. Is it time for another "real" live album like Kicking Television? That one came out 11 years ago now...
  2. When do we get to talk about the ticket prices? It seems that Wilco has made a big jump with these dates charging $95 for Chicago, NY and Toronto while "only" charging $50 in Kzoo. Obviously they can pull it off in Chicago judging by the 3 sellouts. Kind of a bummer none the less. I guess high ticket prices are just the new normal? I'd think with higher prices, we can expect that to limit the number of people attending multiple shows and consequently the need to change up the setlist. We can also expect new fans to be a slower on the uptick given the cost. I know I'd be less willing to pay $
  3. I'd bet the Toronto setlist variation would look a lot like the recent Seattle setlist variation. 26 or 27 total songs. 12 songs that are played on night 1 are replaced by other songs on night 2

  6. He is such a contrarian though (and we love him for that)! Certainly he doesn't think Via Chicago isn't in that category. They play it more frequently that CA Stars.
  7. I stopped in last week. Picked up Mermaid II at 50% off. Not bad. I am just playing it now and looking at the liner notes and artwork. Jeff Tweedy plays mandolin on it! I had no idea. I think Saki's last day is tomorrow...
  8. Are we sure Wilco will be doing West Coast shows in '17? Seems like they were just there with the Schmilco setup.
  9. I love that they thought "and the Zone" was a good idea.
  10. I went to a lot of shows this year, but not too many rose to the top of the best in my lifetime list. Wolf Alice at Lincoln Hall, Chicago Car Seat Headrest at Turner Hall, Milwaukee Guns N' Roses at Ford Field, Detroit Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Thalia Hall, Chicago borderline: Wilco at Hall's Island, Minneapolis Expecting a great 2017 with Magnetic Fields, Ty Segall, Japandroids and Big Thief already lined up.
  11. I watched the stream this year. I've been in the past and the Joe Canale football "bit" was indeed one of the funnier things I've seen.
  12. Theologians She's A Jar True Love Will Find You In The End [unknown Song Played in building lobby] Pot Kettle Black Kamera Wild World (Jeff Tweedy on guitar only. Audience members/Cast on vocals) Jeff's set started with Theologians. Afterwards the theater audience bid on the opportunity to request a song for Jeff to play right in front of them and even take leads vocals with Jeff on guitar. It should be noted that nobody who bid wanted to sing and nobody wanted him to do it lap dance style (comedian TJ's words). The auction winners (~$450) chose She's a Jar, True Love and Pot Kettle Black. A
  13. I wonder if they played this version on the South American tour? I suspect not.

  17. Thanks for sharing. That was a great tribute. I laughed out loud and then nearly came to tears by the end.
  18. Saki is closing...Didn't Jeff just say in a Q&A (reddit? twitter) that it was the store to visit in CHI if you could only visit one? https://www.timeout.com/chicago/blog/logan-square-record-store-saki-is-closing-110316

  20. Well, a little more digging and I found 13 shows in a row when they opened for Dylan in '13. Makes sense that it could have happened then given the shortened length of sets during that tour + their dedication to cover songs with guests.
  21. Man, I put on Descending in his honor. Excellent tune. RIP EH
