  1. I've been to too many shows @ Wrigley (PJ, Bruce, Buffet, BJ/EJ, FF). Wish they would do something else. PJ too.
  2. Thanks for posting. Listening to Misundersood now. they also play Joke Explained, RNG and A Shot in the Arm
  3. Wilco in-store at @BullMoose (Scarborough) on Jan. 27 before sold-out @statetheatreME. Info: http://bit.ly/Wilco_BM
  4. Looks great. Did we ever figure out what the first song was that Jeff played at second city? Could it be the same? The lyrics I was able to decipher, write down and post in another thread were "happiness depends on who you blame"
  5. From Instagram: mikaeljorgensen@cassandracjones and I are teaching a workshop on animation and music production at @stanford over the next two weeks. #thekids
  6. Also announced recently: July 4 in Ferrara, Italy with Kurt Vile Angel Olsen opening that WV show is a cool opener too!
  7. Now on wilcoworld too. Interesting that the band hasn't played the state of WV since 2006 and now they have two shows scheduled for 2016. Go WV.
  8. So, I work for the big beer company that just bought Ballast Point for a cool $1B. I'm curious if that that make their beers less appealing to you all. I hadn't tried a lot of Ballast Point prior to the purchase and am enjoying the offerings a lot. The price point is pretty aggressive! I could probably ask the same question to Lagunitas fans (just joined forces with Heinken), Goose Island, Elyssian and many others owned by Anheuser Busch Imbev.
  9. Chicago behind the stage tickets are $168 after fees. That is crazy. I want to go to the show and would pay that amount to sit in a good seat, but not behind the stage.
  10. Jeff (solo) 4/29 at Weill Center - Sheboygan, WI. Etude Education Group benefit. Presale 1/6 at 10am. On sale 1/22.
  11. Coachella now confirmed by Coachella, Axl, Slash and Duff.
  12. I feel bad for the guy that fellow human beings post this kind of thing about him. A posed picture from his 20's that was probably photo shopped compared with a photo from 20 years later when he is probably in the middle of entertaining a crowd and screen grabbed for the purpose of ridicule. I know pictures of me wouldn't be kind.
  13. Yes - my New Haven tickets arrived at least a week ago.
  14. I thought a thread was deserved to capture all the good the guys do for people and communities in general. Today's example: John is creating a playlist to support The Finley Samuel Special Needs Trust Fund. More here: https://www.youcaring.com/finley-samuel-490892
  15. It has been 4 days since a Just a Fan post by anybody. Ouch. I did some digging to provide this update. Nels has European tour dates with Julian Lage lined up in February and March: Feb 16 Cankarjev Dom Ljubljana 17 Pardon To Tu Warsaw 19 Alter Schlachthof Wels 20 Jazz Club Ferrara 21 Pflegidach - Pflegi Muri 23 Moments Bremen 24 Blue Note Milano 26 Grand Theatre Groningen 29 Carambolage Bolzano March 02 Bozar Brussels 03 Bimhuis Amsterdam
  16. According to setlist.fm, Jeff guested on Get Me, Tarpit and Cortez the Killer. I would be surprised if he didn't also guest on TV Eye and Heart of Gold, but not surprised if setlist.fm got that part wrong. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/dinosaur-jr/2015/bowery-ballroom-new-york-ny-33f2fc2d.html
  17. I had seen some less than stellar performance video of a recent show. Really sad that we all are not surprised. Nobody was able to get through to him.
  18. Wilcoworld now lists shows that I don't think we've mentioned on the board: Northside Festival in Aarhus, Denmark June 17,18 or 19 29 Oct New Fall Fest in Dusseldorf, Germany 30 Oct New Fall Fest in Stuttgart, Germany 10 Nov Le Guess Who Fest in Utrecht, Holland It will be interesting to see what else pops up in June/July in Europe to fill in the holes.
  19. It was definitely that one. You are right. I just checked the lyrics. Now that first song, I wonder what that was...
  20. Via Chicago Then another song I'm not sure of...feel like I've heard it before though. "Let's find [fight] each other tonight" Then the living room auction...2 shows went for $30K each. Online one is a steal still going for 25K https://www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/private-concert-in-your-living-room-with-jeff-tweedy-of-926400
  21. Anybody watching the stream? Opened with a song I didn't recognize. "happiness depends on who you blame" Now doing Screen door http://letterstosantachicago.com/
  22. You are right, I've been to about 20 legit solo shows over 13 years. My favorite shows occur most frequently when a performer connects with the audience. That happens more often than not when the songs resonate and are familiar with the crowd, when there is an arch to the set and when there is plenty of uptempo material. The really deep cuts tend to be slow and unknown to all but diehards. Jeff's audiences can be up for the adventure of a few slower less familiar numbers, but that willingness fades with each song along those lines. The willingness wasn't there Friday - $140 tickets change the
  23. I understand your point and agree with you and was quiet myself during the set, but I guess I see why 2 reasons other people quickly become bored with it: No opening act advertised to me indicates that the audience should show up around 8 if they don't want to miss Tweedy and the performance was all the way to stage left so those on stage right had a really bad angle to spectate and frankly the songs were boring. .
  24. I wasn't clear, I'm talking about the behavior during the openers set. I agree with everything you say regarding behavior during a headlining set.
