Whoh! Pat is using a seat cushion now in addition to Mikael and his? Wilco is creative, I'll give them that. Dueling seat cushion keyboarding rocks my world.

I'm not sure, do you think it is funny?
-
No, it isn't bad that folks outside of Chiago got attention this year. I think it is funny that you used the solo and SB statements.

Reading the latest HQ email. It sunk in. This is the first year Wilco hasn't played Chicago Jan 1 - Dec 31 in their career. That is a bummer. I wonder if they felt burned by the poor attendence at UIC night 2. Que the "Chicago can't complain" "but all solo Wilcos played in 2010" "South Bend isn't that far" "they played in Oct of '09" emails

Everybody see the video from Ringo's 70th? Had a smile on my face as the surprise appearance of Paul and "Birthday" rolled out.

Yes indeed. Billy flew Jeff to Texas where Jeff spent a day teaching Billy Casino Queen. Jeff talked about this at a Vic solo show the year before last I believe.
-
Their best album in my opinion. I could listen to that thing once a day.

I thought On Fillmore + Nels were great. Last song was my favorite. Great musicians. My friend was turned off by all the animal noises. Walked out about 4 minutes into Huntsville - glad to hear they got better with 1/3 Wilco, but man oh man was that a painful 4 minutes of boredom.

Tonight is the show in Millennium park w/ Nels! I'm planning on going - perfect weather out there. http://www.millenniumpark.org/parkevents/event.aspx?id=1004

Any guesses as to whether Jeff will get on stage with Ms Staples at Lollapalooza in Chicago?
-
The baseball project! That is Scott McCaughey, Peter Buck, Linda Pitman and Steve Wynn. We should see some Minus5 action for sure! I just got more excited.
-
Sure - I'd bet against it.

Hopefully we'll see a schedule soon. Lollapalooza released their daily schedule about a week ago and that festival is a week prior to SS. No times or anything, but at least now know which day bands are playing. Hopefully that is an indicator that we'll know soon. On another note, are there going to be VC meet ups? Anybody still looking for camping space? I have room at my site - hit me up with a pm if interested.

bands you might listen to more if they had a different singer

Fred Armisen....Jeff Garlin....Jeff Tweedy ...... May16th
nalafej replied to srmt's topic in Just A Fan
Entertaining time last night. Jeff Garlin on first and definitely crossed the line a couple times (p word etc). Fred on next and did a drum solo then drummer impersonations (Charlie W, Keith M, Sheila E, Bonzo, Glenn K and few others). Introduced Tweedy who came up and took requests. Armisen played along for a few of the songs...he started with the Waffle House song and also did Theologians, Heavy Metal Drummer, When the Roses Bloom Again and Airline. Fred then did some guitar impressions, celebrity impressions. Funny stuff. Fred Armisen is very funny. There was a break and then all three cam -
Looks like fun. I don't recognize Sin City or Wheels. Are those covers?

They are in Colorado and then Europe the month of September, but hopefully after that there will be some Pronto, Singers, AD and On Filmore stuff...

many many chunks. I do think it is cool that Chuck has played the last two nights.
-
Or "Jeff Tweedy plays the songs of Uncle Tupelo"

I think there are a fair amount of hits in that set: Alive, Even Flow, Black, Just Breathe and Daughter certainly qualify. And then other songs from the first two albums (the albums casual listeners probably have heard): Go, Why Go, Porch, Leash. Arena shows can really suck though. You couldn't pay me to go to most and sit in the last rows...

I'm a Three Snakes Guy. Just great Rock N' Roll front to back. The Band album (lost crowes) is my #2. Excited to see them at the Chicago Theater.

I take it back Another Man's Done Gone and Kamera are from the 2nd show (5/5), Just a Kid is from the 3rd show (5/6) as is Outta Sight. Which leaves I'm a Wheel as the only new addition to the K TV set. Wheel was played at the first three shows... No banter.
