Agreed. I will never understand how somebody in the middle class can support a Republican candidate. My family is middle-middle class, I think. I saw during the Clinton years, that my parent's jobs were doing really well, my dad had steady (union) work, and we didn't have to struggle. 2 years into the Bush administration my dad was laid off of his job, and was unemployed for the majority of the year. My family started to struggle. Personally, I've always seen the Democrats to be more supportive of the working person... and they seem to want what's best for the country, and not just the elit

That is really cool! Good for you!

this was my last submission. A gentoo penguin with nesting rocks. I get to work with these penguins, and it's the tail end of breeding season. My friend Amy had the idea.

If they play "Standing O" I will jump up and down on the bed. *crossed fingers*

I noticed that back in May. Maybe that's the reason for all the hats?

I would recommend any of his symphonies, specifically #8 (mostly known as the "unfinished symphony") and pretty much any of his art songs. Those are what I am more familiar with.

I'm on Chapter 2, and I love it so far. At the time when I knew Nat (I think I was 15 or 16) I knew nothing about classical music, and reading this makes me wish I could chat with her about Schubert. I grew to love him through studying him in college choir. I've recommended it to all my choir buddies to read.

Anyone read graphic novels? Seeing the new Spiderman film last weekend reawakened my need to read comic books, but I want something a bit longer, so graphic novels seem like a good idea. Any suggestions?

I still have mine at my parents house. It's a goddess or St. of strength, but I can't remember the specific name anymore...here is a picture of it perched on a piece of art made by my sister...

I laughed at Jeff walking around at the beginning. I've had dreams exactly like this... where I'm the bald guy... except not bald\

Just got this on vinyl today and it sounds awesome. Really interesting braille type insert too.

Can not wait to read this!! Seriously, this thread has made my day.

So far, judging by the Wilco Retweets, I do not stand a chance. Thanks though.

I am really digging this record. My husband doesn't care for it, so it doesn't get a lot of spins in the car, but I blast it at home doing dishes and stuff.

Put my submission up today. Oh lord. If I won that guitar... I would probably faint then play til my fingers bled for the 1st time since i was 16. Fingers crossed the Wilco camp likes it. http://twitter.com/Sarah0504/status/222155736627687425/photo/1/large

Wow. That's actually not too bad. I'll probably pass on it too, though.

i bet that will cost a nice bit of money.

Just looked at it. Nice to see some familiar faces in some of the crowd shots, too!

Maybe he rose from the ashes? Eh? Eh? This is a neat thread. Always cool to read other people's theories about songs.

Why shouldn't it be looked at as a good thing? Wilco made money... Some folks who may not ordinarily be exposed to Wilco will be... It's still a great song. The ad can't change that. I don't get the sour reception by some folks. It's no different than somebody releasing a really bad cover. Plus, in 2 months it will be totally forgotten about.
