SarahC replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
this gave me the biggest laugh. i love rhett so much. also the first time i met jeff i said "hey jeff" and he said "you're SarahC!" it was sweet. -
Wow. That's actually not too bad. I'll probably pass on it too, though.
-
i bet that will cost a nice bit of money.
-
Just looked at it. Nice to see some familiar faces in some of the crowd shots, too!

Maybe he rose from the ashes? Eh? Eh? This is a neat thread. Always cool to read other people's theories about songs.

Why shouldn't it be looked at as a good thing? Wilco made money... Some folks who may not ordinarily be exposed to Wilco will be... It's still a great song. The ad can't change that. I don't get the sour reception by some folks. It's no different than somebody releasing a really bad cover. Plus, in 2 months it will be totally forgotten about.

Wow, the week I decide to get an iPad, Wilco release an iPad book. nice.

No south east dates at all. The closest I guess would be OH. -
Rhett Miller is streaming his new record today until 9PM. It comes out in stores on Tuesday. This is his 1st release on his own label, Maximum Sunshine, so I am trying to help get the word out about it. Listen if you are so inclined. I know the 97's have a few fans on here. I think it's pretty solid. I am sort of pissed that Rachel Yamagata sings on my favorite song on it, because I don't particularly care for her style. Other than that minor let down it's an excellent, twang-infused record. I am proud of and for him. The duet with Ms. Cash is lovely. There are a couple tracks that are defi

Wow! That is awesome. I don't watch TV enough to see commercials. Thanks for sharing. wonder if any of my family have seen it yet? They've always got a TV on.

Does anybody know if this show was taped?

Problem Signing In (just last 2 days)

Thanks Diane for passing the message along, and thank you Donna for fixing me up! xoxox to you both -
It takes a while, but it is worth it in the end, I thought. A lot of people thing DFW is exceedingly wordy, but a good ramble does a lot. I recommend it to everyone when they ask "What should I read?" I even bought a Kindle version of that book for my iPhone... just incase I ever need something to read. I can always go back to that one. It's in my top 10 books ever written.

that looks interesting. I love reading about cults and weird religions like that.

the whole thing is on youtube too.

Thanks guys, seriously, every moment singing with him I was so happy. it was amazing to be able to make music with somebody I look up to as a musician, and generally as a nice human being. I am going to really cherish that moment forever. Only thing slightly better was Jeff handing me a diet coke and asking me what I thought of my 1st Wilco show. I do feel lucky to call Rhett a friend, though. Anyhow, thanks.
-
Fantastic! I saw him 3 times in 3 days, and it was excellent. He puts on a great show. Is his backing band The Serial Ladykillers gonna be with him? They're awesome.

I can't wait for the new Rhett Miller record that comes out next week. Heard about half the record live a few weeks ago, and it was really good. Strong songwriting for sure.

This is a good cover. Gah, the photos of Jeff and Jay a la tribute style made me laugh though. Very man-crush like. Cool though, and if I was a guy I'd have a man crush on Jeff Tweedy.

Yeah, I am in TN. Weird story: years ago before I was on VC I was apart of an alt-country forum called Alt-Country Tabs. One of the guys on that forum was from CA and really big into the Mother Hips, and Tim Bluhm's solo record, and he sent me a bunch of stuff. They have some really good tunes. I think the guy used to post here, maybe still does. I can't think of him name though.
